Contemplating Political Leaders...

Really? How many socialist countries are there? Why do people risk their lives to come here and not the socialist paradises?
Why would they risk their lives in a socialist country when they can get farther up on the Peter Principle pyramid scheme communism of Christiananality pedophilia with lawyers, drugs, guns, money & lynching enforcement in survival of the fittest fascists as Islamidiotocracy Mohammed pedophilia as another day in paradise while giving thanks.

Do you apply the same logic to the American Revolution? “Unless you choose to live with Washington’s army at Valley Forge, you must believe that the British are right and the Americans wrong, and that should be the opinion of everyone else as well.”
What nonsense.

You choose to live here. You don't have to, but you choose to.

You choose capitalism, every single day.

So do I. It's the smarter move.

So you likewise choose secularism, by choosing to be here? You choose Biden’s leadership, by choosing to be here? You choose legal flag-burning, by choosing to be here?

I choose freedom by being here.

The kind that exists in a capitalist system.

And so do you.

The U.S. has an all-time world record incarceration rate. Higher than the USSR, the Socialist Republic of Romania, the People’s Republic of China, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, or any other socialist country. Higher too than any capitalist also-ran such as Nazi Germany, South Africa under apartheid, or Pahlavist Iran.

Speaking of which, did people who instead of escaping to the U.S. stayed behind and fought the Nazis thereby confirm that they preferred the Nazi system?

You can dance around it all you like, but still you remain here enjoying all the comforts capitalism provides...Nothing brave or noble in that.

Ergo, no reason to believe a word you say - You know communism is inferior.

It's all good.

You were upwardly mobile at a time when a generation of Americans were, thanks to access to education, jobs, and opportunity due to the strength of the radical left and the position of the U.S. following victory in WWII. Today that is much less the case.
Yes, the US came out as the dominant economy after WWII. The Russians focused on their military, while the US built consumer goods...cars and TV sets. That drove the computerization of industry and markets. The "left" had little to do with the need for skilled IT workers.

The US has a very high incidence of drug crimes. So? You think that is an indictment of capitalism?

It would be more accurate to say that the Soviets pioneered high-tech production, but they could not keep up with the U.S. because the threat from a richer and more bellicose U.S. forced them to spend their money on defense.

"more bellicose"?
Russia threatened to land troops on a Japanese island in order to force shared occupation of the nation. That was after the Japanese had surrendered. MacArthur said it would mean war. Russia backed down.

Russia blockaded Berlin. Threatening starvation for the Germans in that city. The US responded with an airlift to keep Berliners fed. Who was being more aggressive? The Russians with military force, keeping food and supplies from the city or the US responding with aid for Berlin?

The Russians pioneered high tech production? In your dreams. With the combined economies of the Warsaw pact under their control, they never reached anywhere near our production of cars, civilian aircraft, homes, refrigerators, televisions.

Tanks? Yup, they built a lot of those.

The Soviets created LEDs, nuclear power, and satellites. The real high tech of the space age and Information Age.

Cherry pick a few examples. I can do the same. The U.S. threatened nuclear war over an election in Uruguay. The U.S. organized a network of former Nazis to take down socialism. The U.S. supported the unilateral declaration of the Republic of Korea, reneging on its peace agreement with the USSR.

N. Korea was created by the People’s Committees set up in the wake of the fight against Japanese imperialism. In U.S.-occupied S. Korea, the People’s Committees were disbanded and a dictator handpicked by Douglas MacArthur flown in from the U.S. In the Soviet-occupied north, the People’s Committees were left alone to organize the government as they saw fit. Under the terms of the Cairo agreement, North and South Korea were to be unified under elections. The government of S. Korea refused to honor the election results (indeed, killed people for trying to vote in the elections) and rejected the sovereignty of the Pyongyang government, the elected government of North and South Korea.

Russia imported a Russian army officer who hadn't been in Korea for years and could barely speak Korean. He was in Russia from 1940 to 1945....

Somehow he became the new supreme leader. While you say the US occupied South Korea, Russia occupied North Korea. The US withdrew all troops after the election in the South....which the Russians refused to allow in the North.

Kim was installed as first secretary of the Korean Communist party by the Russian army. General Shtykov put him in charge of the Provisional People's Committee.

Russia armed North Korea with tanks, artillery and aircraft. The South had small arms, rifles and hardly anything else. The North invaded with support from Russia and China.
The South resisted with help from the US and the UK, Turks, Greeks and others.

Kim was in China fighting the Japanese before fleeing to the Soviet Union to save his own life and those of his troops, and joining the Red Army to carry on the fight. He was elected general secretary by the central committee of the Workers’ Party. He was chosen to lead the Provisional People’s Committee by the convention of mass organizations.

In “the election in the South,” only landlords were allowed to vote, the most popular party in the country was banned, and the top leaders of the 2nd-most popular party were imprisoned and barred from participating. The People’s Committees in the meantime held fair multiparty elections. The Soviets provided minimal aid to the elected socialist Korean government as was their elementary moral duty. Meanwhile, the U.S. provided minimal aid to the Seoul regime to keep it dependent and lure the N. Koreans into a liberation attempt that would be a pretext for massive intervention.

No, the Soviets did not invent LEDs.
Light-emitting diode - Wikipedia

The first nuclear reactor was Chicago Pile-1 in 1942.

From your article:
Russian inventor Oleg Losev reported creation of the first LED in 1927.

And that nuclear reactor was used for weapons production research. It took the Soviets to build a reactor to heat homes and turn on lights.
Losev's LED... no practcal use.
