I have no problem with those in Real need getting food stamps, my problem with those I know and see getting food stamps that are capable of working.
I help those that help themselves.

I agree and those who are scamming the system should be caught and locked up. There are thousands of Federal, State and local welfare fraud being prosecuted every year and I support the agencies who are bringing these cases to court. Meanwhile those who own our government are raking their large percentage of the wealth of our country live in golden palaces while the people who built and work to keep this country running are involved in petty arguments fighting over the scraps left over…..Pretty sad…

You are ignoring the fact I presented earlier in which you made false claims. Those with children are NOT required to work in order to receive food stamps. Do you agree you made a false Claim? I believe work requirements are fair.

1. I think they usually are required to work outside the home.
2. The assumption is also that they do more unpaid reproductive labor due to the responsibility of raising children, from which society benefits at their expense and for which it is only proper to pay them.

If they have children or are pregnant there are no work requirements. And by the way…it is possible to raise children and work.

At any rate, it was nice to see Biden and McCarthy actually work together and compromise. That is necessary for our government to function properly in a time of closely split factions. I hope McCarthy is not pushed out by his own caucus. He and Biden showed each other some mutual respect. Good for both of them…

I clearly stated that there are NOT work requirements for those with young children after you made the false claim that “Everyone who gets food stamps is working. In fact, you have to be working to be eligible for food stamps”.
Now….you are back peddling, by the way….I don’t consider A 5 year old an “infant”.
You are excused from the general work requirements if you are any one of these things:

• Already working at least 30 hours a week (or earning wages at least equal to the federal minimum wage multiplied by 30 hours)
• Meeting work requirements for another program (TANF or unemployment compensation)
• Taking care of a child under 6 or an incapacitated person
• Unable to work due to a physical or mental limitation
• Participating regularly in an alcohol or drug treatment program
• Studying in school or a training program at least half-time (but college students are subject to other eligibility rules).

Of stop being so silly. I am a mother, I managed to work and raise two children. By the way, in your original post you made NO mention of children and all along insisting one had to work to get food stamps.
There are other reasons besides having a child in which there are NOT work requirements. But I do appreciate your desperation and back peddling throughout this thread.
