Dem gov of MN gives housing to 150 illegals. 18,000 Mainers waiting for section 8

It is not pretzel logic to say that Maine should deal with its its serious affordable housing problem instead of pitting one group of unfortunate people against another and scapegoating a couple of hundred asylum seekers for Maine's housing problems.
Sure it is...when that is mere mealy-mouth justification and cover for a certain demographic being pushed to the FRONT OF THE LINE (whether “temporary” housing or not).

You cannot dance your way out of this fact.

Democrats clearly value non-citizens more highly than citizens as evidenced by the priority of accommodation here, as well as the desire for a policy to provide illegal and/or asylum seekers FREE healthcare while citizens not only must pay if they want it...but will be FINED if they do not buy it.

No dancing, just truth.

They were not pushed to the front of the line.

If they applied for section 8 they would be put on the bottom of the list.

Just a fact.

HUH???? Can't you figure it out.?? 50 million illegals means say 10 million illegal households. Of course that raises the cost of rent and home ownership for everyone. Illegals are why a 1br apt in SF costs $4,000 a month.
Holy cow you are dumb.

The "dot com" boom is why a single apartment is so expensive there.

Sheesh!

I am not sure where "there" is. But it seems they are not illegals. Can you link me to the permanent housing that was afforded them?
You are very reasonable and willing to put aside partisanship.

Congratulations.

That is a rare quality these days.

Yet the citizens will receive housing AFTER the Democratic Party’s preferred demographic (non-citizens). Fact.

Nonsense.

Saying "Democrats preferred demographic (non citizens)" is pure partisan BS.

Saying a couple of hundred asylum seekers shouldn't be scape goated for Maine's lack of affordable housing IS NOT saying we prefer citizens over non citizens.

Just stop already.

Nope. The Democrat-preferred demographic is receiving preferential treatment...just like the Dems want to give that same Demographic FREE healthcare, but citizens must pay for it...or be fined.

You can’t hide it.

HAHAHA. Did you really say that.??? The law SAYS they can't vote but the law also says illegals can't live or work here and yet 50 million openly do that!!

Illegals vote by the millions. You really think these dem controlled sanctuary states are gonna stop them? Why should they.? THINK
To avoid lawsuits and prosecution?

The asylum seekers are here legally.

You know that right?
Only temporarily so. They are not considered illegal until they appear for their court hearing. When they fail to appear for their hearing, as most of them do, they are then illegally in this country.

Most of them DO NOT fail to show up for their hearings.

Your Fox Propaganda Channel has been lying to you again.

FACT:

"Recent data shows that asylum seekers continue to appear for immigration court proceedings at high rates. In fiscal year 2018, Department of Justice (DOJ) figures show that 89 percent of all asylum applicants attended their final court hearing to receive a decision on their application. When families and unaccompanied children have access to legal representation, the rate of compliance with immigration court obligations is nearly 98 percent."

Ok two things.

1) we are talking about San francisco, not California as a whole.

San Francisco has its own issues which are specific to San Francisco. For example it is 7 miles wide and 11 miles long. No new land equals limited supply, combine that with o e of the highest average incomes in the World thanks in large part to the dot com boom, and you have very expensive real estate.

That is just supply and demand. Just market economics.

Secondly your article about California proves that it is NOT illegals that cause high rents.

So why aren't you telling "make speed limit 45" he is wrong instead of me?

The assylum seekers are not in that line. If they were they woulf be put at the bottom.

From the article:

Brennan said the waiting lists, and housing for asylum seekers, are two separate issues.

"The asylum seekers are a very unique situation in which it's a temporary situation for them, it's not permanent housing. They're not getting a housing opportunity that someone on the waiting list would be afforded," Brennan explained.

Brennan said if the asylum seekers eventually need permanent housing help, they'll be on waiting lists like everyone else "
The expenditures that are being used to house the asylum seekers could and should be used towards housing for those Maine residents who have been on a list and waiting for housing. Regardless of the being on a "list", the funds are being freed up to house the seekers, and could instead be used to help those on the list.
