DOJ's FISA report contradicts claims by Dems, media figures that surveillance rules were strictly observed

New findings by the Justice Department inspector general that the FBI has repeatedly violated surveillance rules stood in stark contrast to the years of assurances from top Democrats and media commentators that bureau scrupulously handled Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants -- and prompted Republican lawmakers to caution that the FBI seemingly believes it has "carte blanche to routinely erode the liberties of Americans without proper justification."

The DOJ watchdog identified critical errors in every FBI wiretap application that it audited as part of the fallout from the bureau's heavily flawed investigation into former Trump advisor Carter Page, who was surveilled in part because of a largely discredited dossier funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC). An FBI lawyer in that case even falsified a CIA email submitted to the FISA court in order to make Page's communications with Russians appear nefarious, the DOJ inspector general found; and the DOJ has concluded that the Page warrant was legally improper.

I can see it now:

1. They all do it.

2. Trump did it first.

Here come the excuses...But those who violated the law ans the trust of American citizens should be punished.

What was exposed was not “abuse by the FBI.” What was exposed was the abusive standard operating procedure for the FBI, inherent in its role as a political police.

So Obama is responsible or as President he had no control over the departments he had charge over. That's a pretty damning admission by you.

From your link:
Horowitz added that during his initial review, “we have not made judgments about whether the errors or concerns we identified were material,” and that they “do not speculate as to whether the potential errors would have influenced the decision to file the application or the FISC’s decision to approve the FISA application.”

And your point?

That remark doesn’t respond to mine at all. The only way Obama or any other president could have prevented FBI misconduct was by disbanding the FBI.

Ahhh, so because Horowitz made no declaration on the merits of the case that makes the planting of evidence and left wing corruption okay? Think dullard.

They made no attempt to evaluate if the FISA court would have granted the warrant.
IG: I'm not going to express an opinion one way or the other on a job reserved for a FISA judge

Your spin: See, the warrant was valid.

IG: The process of producing the warrant was fraught with misconduct and the investigation severely flawed.

Your spin: He's not saying anything.

ROFL. Your restaurant needs to go under quickly. The only good thing that can come from this pandemic.

Obama DOJ lied to a FISA court in order to get surveillance on the rival parties' Presidential Campaign. Surveillance that once the FISA application was granted involved more than just Carter Paige.

President Obama used the intelligence-gathering apparatus of the US Government to spy on his political rivals the entire time he was in office. From his "rogue IRS" employees to John Brennan spying on staff members of the Senate, to his use of incidental collection on those opposed to the Iran deal.

President Obama was the most corrupt President in US History.

Durham investigation makes Democrats nervous and it should.

The conclusion stands...nobody but Trumpies have claimed the original FISA warrant should not have been granted.

Actually, catering side is picking up and we are looking for a couple of drivers.
