Feds place order for 100,000 more body bags

I read 'big business' bank owned/controlled restaurants were shamed into returning $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and I agree, next time govt wants to send $billions to foreign countries that $$$$$$$$ should be sent to citizens.

It businesses fail, citizens will not have jobs to return too.
Unless the buildings burn down, the businesses will remain. What they will need is a cash boost to obtain raw materials or inventory.

I guess fathers/mothers need explain it to their kids while moving under a local bridge due to no work/money.

It's less than 2% dying and appears majority already had one foot in a grave. I can't fathom while anyone wants another Great Depression and the one coming will make the first one look like a picnic.
Which is why I said the federal government needs to give cash to citizens.

Unfortunately, if big business shuts down there is no longer an economy for anyone. They provide the tax revenues, provide the jobs, and are the engine. I get the idea that helping large corporations seems unsavory to some but if they begin shutting down then everything is doomed. You are misplacing the purpose here.

This has been discussed as nauseam. Obama depleted these and never replaced them. It's not something that could be done in a week.
"in a week" ?
Obama has been gone from office for 3 yrs by then. Was Old Slothy too busy holding, his forever campaigning the the job he was supposed to be doing, election rallies for past 3 yrs to notice ?

What makes you think “Lefty” loves the carnage being brought about by Trump and the GOP?

Note how insane your thought process is - your cult leader Trump and your GOP cult are pushing for policies to increase deaths, opponents of your cult oppose those policies, and yet you claim that those opposing those policies are the ones who love death. In other words, you turn reality upside down and inside out.

Surely you can see how your GOP cult has destroyed your mind, no?
Well, it’s clear Bugsy would prefer Monty Python-style oxen-driven “bring out yer dead” carts. That would extract even more sweet political nectar for the ghouls.

Perhaps your fellow soul-less hacks at Occupy Democrats can get cracking on developing THAT PowerPoint meme for immediate distribution? I’m surprised leftyfilth hasn’t already done so.

And? The POTUS has thousands of things on his plate. The previous guy should have been signing replacement orders as he was signing orders almost daily to get rid of them. An utter failure to do so.

Obama didn't have time to hold rallies every week. Yet here you are saying the Rally King didn't have to time to replace the medical stock pile. Maybe if he cut out his 7 hours a day of Fox News watching and tweeting he could have fit that into his schedule.

Your excuse making is Deplorable !

Ahhh, so as Obama was so distracted by sending out masks daily he was unable to find the time to re-order them in 8 years? Yet, the next guy who wasn't dealing with masks was suppose to magically find Obama's failure in a stack of thousands of duties without it being brought to his attention.

Your desperation to defend the Kenyan scum from his utter failure and blame some else instead is quite deplorable. It's how you people work.

Then we need to ban everyone from driving, too.
We can do that as soon as we have sufficient public transport to handle the need. In the meantime, we have spent years and years instituting and improving on driving safety measures - antilock brakes, seat belts, speed governors, traffic laws, etc. Like many things in life, driving is not risk free. But we minimize the risk as much as possible. This pandemic is a temporary situation. In an effort to minimize the risk as much as possible, we have instituted safety measures: social distancing, closing of non critical businesses, etc. We will lift those temporary measures when it is safe and possible to do so. If we need to supplement people's cash in order to enable us to continue these temporary measures as long as they need to be continued, we should do so. What we should not do is force low-income people to risk their lives to eat. Lives are more important.

Obama was busy holding down the death rate from H1N1. I remember when you winger used to rant that 18000 deaths was an inexcusable failure. Now it's yuge success if 18000 die under Trump in a couple of weeks.

Well at least he's decided to stock up on body bags in anticipation of his grand reopening. Finally Old Slothy is trying to get ahead of the curve.

I bet you couldn't be prouder.

Yes, we've tried to make it safer but there will always be fatalities. Driving has not been completely shut down because of these risks. Same with Covid-19. Quarantine the at-risk. Use common sense. You cannot, however, collapse the economy over something that will never take more than 0.05% of the young and healthy regardless of what we do. That is the entire point.

Yes, there will always be fatalities. We do what we can to hold them to the minimum. That's what we're doing with the Covid-19 mitigation methods. Since you have no way of knowing what the Covid-19 death rate would be with no mitigation methods in place, you can't say how it compares with the death rate with mitigation methods in place. But the medical community has modeled it and that's why they recommended the measures we have implemented.

We had flu vaccines locked and loaded. All they needed was the H1N1 strain in them. Easy task. We have NO such vaccine with coronaviruses ready to go. Once again, dumb contrast.

And your excuse as to why Obama depleted them but never re-stocked was because he thought they were being used for a good cause? Shouldn't that have increased his urgency to fix the depletion rather than leave it for the next guy to "find" under a stack of thousands of responsibilities? You are making the Kenyan scum look like a bigger, inept fool. Thank you.

Every model so far has missed completely. You cannot rely solely upon models on things that have never occurred. They rely upon assumptions which are at the mercy of the modeler.

All we can do is look at the data of what has occurred. Yes, we can safely say the death toll among the young and healthy, unlike the Spanish flu, would be extraordinarily low. We KNOW this now. It's no longer up for debate.

Is an economic collapse worth it? Incorporate common sense, quarantine the vulnerable until we have an effective vaccine and let people live, let the economy grow again.

But, hey, a little economic ruin is okay if you THINK it might hurt Trump. That is beyond deplorable.

There wasn't a vaccine for H1N1 until Sept. until that time all America had was its leadership. Now we don't even have that and it has to stock up on bodies bag and excuses.

All because of Old Slothy the Incompetent and his months of fantastical dithering.

Yes, wait until needed instead of before by chance needed and then libs would whine he didn't order soon enough.

Wait, that's already been whined by libs of mask.

NYC just hauls bodies off in back of pick-up trucks and video showed workers standing on dead bodies while unloading them! What about the bodies stored in Uhaul trucks w/ice!!
A sane, competent president would have directed the preparation of hundreds of millions of N95 masks and test kits two months ago.

Instead, Trump orders 100,000 body bags.

The fact is that we have to open the economy (indeed, our society) back up or the deaths from the economic carnage and the untreated medical conditions (not to mention the potential civil unrest) will exceed the covid-19 total.

It is obvious that we have "lowered the curve" which was the, you know, stated objective of the closures. If the goal was actually to tank the economy, because it was Trump's biggest electoral asset, thereby giving the Democrats a better chance of winning the Presidency in November, you should have told us that up front, instead of trying to sneak it in after we have already achieved the stated objective, because we're not, you know, stupid.
You should know that infections continue to increase in many of the areas where the covidiots are marching in hordes to open things up. The curve has not been lowered.
