At a CNN town hall event on April 22, presidential hopeful and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders was asked whether his support for allowing inmates to vote would extend to Boston Marathon bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Tsarnaev has been sentenced to death for his role in the 2013 attack.

Sanders responded that he believes U.S. citizens should not lose their right to vote, even those that have committed horrific acts.

1. Why shouldn't those who have paid their debt to society be allowed to vote?
2. I am on the left and am a patriot. Patriotism is not exclusive to those in the right.

Jail survey: 7 in 10 felons register as Democrats

by Paul Bedard January 01, 2014 12:00 AM

A new study of how criminals vote found that most convicts register Democratic, a key reason in why liberal lawmakers and governors are eager for them to get back into the voting booth after their release.

“Democrats would benefit from additional ex-felon participation,” said the authoritative study in The Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science.

The authors, professors from the University of Pennsylvania and Stanford University, found that in some states, felons register Democratic by more than six-to-one. In New York, for example, 61.5 percent of convicts are Democrats, just 9 percent Republican. They also cited a study that found 73 percent of convicts who turn out for presidential elections would vote Democrat.

I'm not saying they shouldn't have the right to vote after their sentence is served.

I am, however, opposed to the idea of allowing prisoners being able to vote in national elections.

A significant majority of Americans are opposed to the idea of prisoners being able to vote in national elections, according to a new poll.

In a Hill-HarrisX survey released Thursday, 69 percent of registered voters said incarcerated felons should not be allowed to retain their voting rights. Thirty-one percent favored the idea.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a front-runner in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary, brought attention to the topic during an April 23 virtual town hall meeting broadcast by CNN when he said he said felons, even those convicted of terrorism offenses, should not have their voting rights taken away while they are in prison.

Certain acts of lawlessness will cause you to lose that right. Think before you act...Not after.

Prison should be a place that people never want to go to and the loss of privileges should be a deterrent. If you want a crappy run government where the budget is never balanced and terrorist are welcomed as heroes, then don't do the crime so you can vote for a Democratic.

They are gonna need illegals too!
Nah.... they just wanna make it easier to cheat. lol?

As Democrats select their 2020 presidential nominee, a constellation of left-leaning groups is looking ahead, laying groundwork for huge voter turnout in November by filing an avalanche of voting-rights lawsuits against state laws they say suppress participation in elections.

The groups, including state and national party committees as well as outside nonprofits, are spending millions of dollars to fight voter-registration purges, ID requirements and rules regarding signature-matching and ballot order, and they are also hiring voter protection staffers and recruiting and training volunteers in key states.

Yep. Go figure.

Blackburn, an African American who learned he could vote while attending a community meal at a Milwaukee church, said it was "great news" that he will be able to cast a ballot against Trump, whom he believes is a racist who has divided the country. He said he regretted not being able to vote for Barack Obama for president, and that he planned to talk with his friends and family about participating in 2020.

"When I became a felon, it was like something was stripped from me," he said.

Again - Go figure

So for minorities it's Trump, not the party of slavery Democratics. Well for the "felon's" who are not so smart.

If the Democrats had anyone running this year who wasn't a edited communist, there might be a chance. But this season is the perfect storm. We have the greatest president in history (Trump) and the greatest economy in history. And the idiots who are the Democrat front runners are proposing items that will turn everything to shitt, put everyone back on welfare, take away cars, shut down manufacturing plants and raise middle class taxes.

No felon, wanting to come out of prison and get a real job would ever vote for any of these communists running now.

Why do you think those who have completed their sentence shouldn't vote in National elections? By what rationale should their punishment not end when their sentence is completed?
