Ol' Fred saying South Carolina is IT....the LAST chance to "stop Mitt", probably by Newt.

And it's not looking very likely.

Fred Barnes also thought McCain was "Reaganesque" and predicted a coupla days before the election that McCain would win 280-something to 250-something in the Electoral College. Bet he thinks nobody remembers that.

Obviously Barnes is a partisan and it taints his "clairvoyance"....but I think he's obviously prepping the "Standard" audience for a

"Just learn to love him" moment if South Carolina goes Mitt. Because that'll be the ballgame. Ron Paul will eventually fade...and everybody else from Newt to Little Ricky will be on the glide-path to a concession speech then or after Florida.
