Cindy Sheehan Announces to Crowd at Occupy Rose Bowl: ‘I Haven’t Paid My Income Taxes’ in Nearly Eight Years

Speaking at Occupy Rose Bowl, anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan announced before a crowd of protesters that she hasn’t paid her income taxes since her son, U.S. Army Specialist Casey Sheehan, was killed in Iraq in 2004. Sheehan went on to justify her tax evasion by stating that she would not fund “the crimes against humanity” she claims are perpetrated by the U.S. government and military.

It is safe to assume, however, that the IRS doesn’t care what her reasons are, and will likely be knocking on the activist’s door sometime in 2012.

And Congress ALSO wrote GWB a letter stating that the AUMF WAS NOT a Declaration of War. Thus the war in Iraq
1) was not a legitimate war since no declaration of war had been made
2) was not legal under international treaties the USA is party to (there was no threat to the USA nor other casus belli
3) the pretense of threat was a wholly mae up lie.

as opposed to Libya where

1) an existant state of war existed - and one that had not been settled in any manner by any treaty. That State of war - as per Prize Cases requirements - existed from Lockerbie onwards
2) the USA Action was 100% within its NATO Treaty obligations
3) it was not in violation of any treaties the USA had signed.

If so, that's part of the problem with our tax code. EVERYONE should pay at least 5% of their income as federal income tax. Having 43% of Americans get a free ride is not only unsustainable, but keeps too many people insulated from what a burden the federal government is.

Now onto Cindy Sheehan. She has long since used up any good will she deserved for being the mother of a dead soldier. She is a certifiable kook and now admitted tax cheat. Real Americans in America know that.

Now in case you haven't noticed, Europe is facing a severe crisis as a result of decades of big government socialism. You should really be more focused on that, rather than projecting yourself into our politics.

Interesting concept, and possibly true. This is a perfect example of our oppressive government being able to come down on and squash those who challenge them. I've spoken with people from groups who pay no income taxes (federal, SS, etc), but in the end, decided to simply pay up.

That said, your video isn't the basis for Cindy The Kook Sheehan not paying up. She's simply a loser and a flake.

I have absolutly no idea who she is Stanley H but who ever she is she doesn't need to pay taxes into the privately owned Federal Reserve.

Queen, I am sincerely fascinated with the concept. I even met with an organizer in the LA area in the 90s, after being introduced to the concept by a customer. I got cold feet when I showed up a second time and the organizer had clearly been beaten up, and would not comment on what happened to him. I figured it was government-related, and abandoned the prospect. I must say though, you've reignited my interest. As there is far more information available online today than in the internet stone ages of the mid-90s, I'll be looking into it again.

As for the woman in the video, I have no idea who she is either. I noticed one person commented "she's a convicted felon". Hardly impressive, given how much I'm sure the federal government would love to shut her up. Perhaps she'll be doing her next video with bruises all over her face as well if she doesn't shut up. I sincerely hope neither happens.
