Why does the advanced search have the choice of after a certain date rather than before a certain date.
In use newer than is not very helpful when searching the past.
Older than is much more useful for narrowing down a result.
Because older than will produce increasingly fewer results and allows you to narrow down the responses as you move in that direction you get until you get to the post you are looking for.
Newer than increases your results as you move backwards in time and only serves to make the list of result longer and harder to find what you are looking for.
