I see this next election as a test

Governor
as to whether one can reasonably conclude once and for all whether

1. there's such a thing as a omnipotent "liberal" media http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/articles/brunitedstatescanadara/671.php that is in the tank for BHO and the dems.

2. integrity and CONsistency have any real currency in the repub/most indies ranks. Remember all the hogwash about BHO's "leadership" abilities before and for a long time after his stomping of McSame? I suppose Romney being elected will show that for more than half of voting Americans, not only is having a Liar in Chief and worst flip flopper ever alright, they apparently don't remember or don't care what happened during the reign of error and terror of he who cannot be mentioned http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/03/gop-presidential-candidates-george-w-bush_n_1181493.html Gee, I thought a man who stands for everything really stands for nothing, and that and lying were far removed from desirable leadership qualities.

3. we're gonna head collectively and hastily over to the darkside with a repub victory, or see the fear of that overcome the diminished hope many feel, if they haven't lost it completely, thereby establishing that the majority prefer what the rightwingers characterize as socialism, as opposed to what those fascist pucks have for a goal. This election much as the last, is gonna be defining in terms of how the rest of the world sees us in terms of our collective heart and soul, and the average American IQ. A repub victory will be our collective shame on all moral and intellectual scales to the rest of the world. http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/magazine/january_february_2012/features/foreign_affairs034475.php And a Romney getting the SCOTUS picks almosts guarentees corporate rule for many years/decades to come.

4. BHO is who he's been the last few years, or something slightly or greatly diff that a second term can bring out, as his reeelction effort has to a discernable/measurable degree. I've long been inclined to think that he's been playing more ball than he'd like to, and with things like signing that abomination of an NDAA, along with a few other disappointments, he's got some burnishing of his legacy to do for many.

5. rightwingers can take another 4 years of ODS, or whether their large scale use of mental health professionals and pharmaceuticals will send health care costs through the roof again http://www.medpagetoday.com/PublicHealthPolicy/GeneralProfessionalIssues/30568

6. we're gonna be doomed because of further delays in action on the climate, if not the worsening of conditions under repub rule. http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/magazine/january_february_2012/features/the_environment034476.php

I think if they win I'm gonna look into moving to Canada, so I can enjoy some cooler weather during my twilight years...

I think the Republicans have one item to sell, and that is Obama has failed to bring about a recovery. They will and have been pounding that theory for two years nows.

The big thing I would like to see which won't is a press to really check out what Obama has done as far as mistakes.

I would love to so see the press tie down exactly what those on the right are putting forth and make them explain their ideas in terms of what exactly will your programs do.

Then they should go through both Obama health care and Jobs programs and what they will cost and what will they do.

Then they should tie down what programs and what rules and regulations the right wants to get rid of, if they can point to any really and what the outcome would mean in real terms..

Lets get some facts as to what the congress has passed and what those jobs bill would do.

Lets look at how many bills that put forth by the senate that never got a hearing because of the senate rules of 1 person can stop a vote, that will cause 60 to over ride.

Lets get to the facts on both sides, and what the outcome from what they have done is or will do.

By all means lets have the press, that is people who are paid for giving us news, not political opinions.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner in the "If my candidate doesn't win I'm running off to Canada -- that shit box of the far north -- to hide my head in a block of ice," contest!

Finest kind. Bye! Don't let the U.S. Constitution smack you on the ass on your way out the door.

We will see if hate and rage against anyone different will win or whether the good guys will. Simple as that.

I see it as an opportunity for the American people to step this country back from the edge of doom. Do we want to be the bastion of liberty, justice and freedom envisioed by the founders or do we want to be a Marxist/Socialist welfare entity, and ultimately bankrupted and destroyed?

Do we want a legally elected representative government or do we want a rogue state ruled by a wannabee despot and his thugs? Do we want the rule of law or do we want a DemStaPo style government that has no use for the constitution and rules by fiat and executive order to perpetuate a 51% voting block of freeloaders and welfare cheats who pay no taxes and who view the rights of others as an impediment to their criminal enterprises?

Do we want America or do we want Obamaland?

If Romney is the nominee of the Republican Party, Obama will again steal the election.
Huh? He'll "steal it"....because guys like you won't vote for Romney.

And that makes sense to you?!?!?

BTW, interesting that you claim the election is about "stepping this country back from the edge of doom" ...yet if YOUR choice isn't picked, you'll sit on your butt and let that happen rather than vote for Mitt Romney???

If Obama wins the next election he will have to stael it using voter fraud and election fraud. That's the only way he can win. Romney cannot overcome that, he's too much like Obama.

there is no reasoning with Maoists, please, GG.
Modern GOP turned to maoism, blind faith and stupidity for electoral support.
these people are as disgusting as a devoted commie.

See the reply, the only way Obama wins election by stealing it. That is it.
Do you need to carry on argumentation after that utmost non-human demonstration of stupidity presented?

Well the hate and rage won in 2008 for sure; but after four years of the disaster that such sentiments have caused this nation it appears that people are now willing to try sweet reason and sanity instead. Hate and rage at this nation got Obama elected all right; but it's doubtful that it will get him another four years to do this nation even more damage.

Bingo! That is what my post about leaving the party was about.

"Hate and rage AT THIS NATION got Obama elected"....please elaborate. Are you saying a majority of voters in 2008 hated America?

(That whirrling sound you'll hear, folks, is called..."backpedalling" :) )

Paying attention to their long term actions, all indications are that the average leftwinger hates this nation with a stunning passion. Why do you ask?

So a majority of Americans in 2008 were "average leftwingers", then?

(Need a bigger shovel for this hole, Cicero? :) )

thanks for establishing the level of your impotence in the face of my material, which quickly reduced you to shrill nonesense

but then, that's always the case, now ain't it?

As any discerning reading no doubt surmised, my desire to move to Canada had to do with cooler weather for my twilight years, which is quite a ways off. I could say, "I think I'm gonna LOOK INTO buying a new car!" -- if the repubs win, but as any schoolchild would know, that merely addresses an interest in a new car, and says little to nothing about whether I actually will or not, and certainly excludes any specific dates/time frames for it other than "the future" commencing after the interest is expressed. My "interest" obviously has far more to do with living in cooler weather sometime in the future and little to nothing to do with an aversion to living under immediate fascist rule by your leaders and idols as you asserted, which to sustain as a valid charge, would require my having excluded the "look into" qualification... It speaks to a likely consequence -- bad/worse climate -- down the road as a result of America electing a bunch of stupid flat earthers, and nothing more. Furthermore, if things "cool" as flat earthers contend they will, my need/interest cool right along with it, no?

I think if they win I'm gonna look into moving to Canada, so I can enjoy some cooler weather during my twilight years...

maybe you should look into taking a reading and comprehension refresher course, given the need indicated by your work around here

indeed maryanne -- what would pants/bedwetting liars like repubs be without hateful otherization and imaginary bogeymen?

I think that's about right 888888, even if a bit incomplete.

Most of the "mistakes" BHO has made are related to his spending too much time trying to compromise with the uncompromising, a lesson his campaign rhetoric makes clear he's now cognizant of.

I think Pelosi has a good idea with him incorporating the "do nothing" congress into his campaign, and running against them as well
