Idaho in complete Covid meltdown

I asked the poster if he would add AIDS to his littany of preferred disqualifying events. I look forward to his earnest answer.

Personally, I don’t favor piling lawsuits onto those battling illness. But - don’t forget - it’s we conservatives who lack “compassion” and “empathy”.
No, it's you conservatives who lack any sign of intelligence or responsibility.

It's a shame their declaration of rugged individualism and out cry of govt overreach on heeding COVID advice from the experts has come to mean many will now die.

Jeppesen was not exaggerating the crisis. His agency reported that a record 678 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Idaho as of Monday, including 173 in intensive care — and those almost certainly were undercounts. On Wednesday, the state said, only 12 adult ICU beds were staffed and available in the entire state.

As many as 97% of the COVID patients in Idaho intensive care units were unvaccinated. That’s no surprise, because Idaho has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the country, as reckoned by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The fantasy of rugged individualism, in other words, still reigns in Idaho. Unfortunately, there are fewer Idahoans every day to enjoy it.

The average age of Idahoans with COVID-19 is 39.7 years and ranges from 1 to 100 years of age. The data excludes 58 persons with unknown age.

The age group with the most cases is 18-29 with 59,165 cases.

YW... This is a good read if you have time. I thought the last paragraph was the clincher.

Six Rules That Will Define Our Second Pandemic Winter
The pandemic keeps changing, but these principles can guide your thinking through the seasons to come.

All variants, though, will have some common weakness: They can be stopped through the combined measures of vaccines, masks, distancing, and other measures that cut the conduits they need to travel. When viruses spread faster, they can be tougher to control. But they can’t persist without us, and our behavior matters too.
