Is inflation Biden's fault?

only an idiot thinks the opinions in those discussions prove Biden is to blame for rising prices.

US oil production is controlled by oil companies...they cut production because of low demand in 2020. They are keeping supply below demand to drive prices up...and you blame Biden.

Seems they are responding..but it's not instantaneous

Inflation has nothing to do with oil companies. The price problems with oil companies have already been defined.
Inflation is too many dollars chasing too few goods.
Oil prices are determined by oil speculators in the market, and any fear of interruption in supply (such as a hiccup in the Strait of Hormuz, oil platforms in the Gulf destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, Joe's attack on domestic energy production) will cause spikes in the price of a barrel of oil.

This argument was settled months ago.

Biden caused the inflation and he caused the skyrocketing oil prices. And this fall, his party is going to pay for that .

I heard the CEO of one oil company speak to investors. She basically said it was in their best interests to keep production just below demand. Their profits are zooming right now. They have no reason to compete with themselves.

Of course, you're wrong. Demand for oil/gas is higher than it was before the pandemic. Production dropped by 30% in 2020. The oil companies are keeping production below demand on purpose. Nothing Biden has done is limiting production.

The war in Ukraine is creating a decrease in supply in Europe due to embargoes on Russian oil and gas.

The increase in prices is good for oil companies as the head of Occidental admitted. Their profits are great for the CEOs and stock holders.

When and what started it?

Should we forget about trump's war on the economy with his tariffs on China goods?

Shhhh
In one of the rare instances of lucidity ever expressed by a conservative here on PJ they correctly observed that there was a difference between being at fault and being responsible.

It's not Biden's fault that many of the things that have caused the economy to get to the state it is in today although I would argue that his give-away policies of continuing stimulus checks after the economy was getting back on track couple with the ridiculous idea of flat out forgiving student debt didn't help. It is however his responsibility to fix the mess. And he will be judged in November on how well he does this.

So the average mom and pop business are taking advantage? Link?
If their profits are due to taking advantage of inflation by price gouging, who cares if they are mom and pop. They're gouging real life moms and pops and kids around them.

Wonderful. You can sell that, if you like. Make sure to tell all that this is Biden's economy, and you think it's awesome.
I said what they need to sell to the public
Sell them that the GOP is crazy, crooked, traitorous, and above all tell you they have no agenda but revenge and service to Trump, not the people, Trump. They have said so, and Dems need to remind the public about your lying traitors at every opportunity.

Again, treasonous liars who scammed you and are still scamming you now.

It doesn't matter if they did it because they are evil or because they are stupid

Either is disqualifying.

as you know, a great many small businesses have to raise prices in order to survive... yes?

If profit rose faster than cost, why do you suppose that would happen ?

Because you were a victim of inflation, or because you took advantage of inflation ?
probable an excessive price. but costs are increasing for many... yes?

Yes!

If you break it you own it,” is pretty much what Joe Biden should be thinking right now, but he isn’t, of course.

Yes, it’s inconceivable that the president who so deservedly owns his moniker “Sleepy Joe” has enough self-awareness to own up to his role in fomenting the precarious state of the US economy that’s sitting on a 40-year High of 7.9% (and growing) inflation.

The problem for Biden is that inflation, according to every Wall Street CEO I speak to, is only going to get worse no matter how much he passes the buck and blames the Russians for higher prices on everything from gasoline to food. That is, unless Sleepy Joe has an awakening and reverses his bizarre energy policies that made America dependent on despots from Russia to Venezuela. No matter how fast the environmentalists and their lackeys in the White House push for a zero-carbon footprint, we still depend on oil and gas as the lifeblood of our economy.

Inflation is theft. It siphons money particularly from poor, working and middle-class Americans. But Joe Biden fueled it with absurd fiscal policies that included continuing to pay people not to work when the economy needed supply to meet the rising demand post-COVID.
Domestic oil and gas production is way up under Biden. Deficits and printing money are down.
