Is this the best economy we ever had?

Stick to objective economic metrics and answer that question - jobs growth, unemployment rate, economic growth, the markets, real estate.

As with prior Dem presidents in recent years - Clinton and Obama - the economy is truly extraordinary, while GOP cultists just chant “The economy sucks!” But can anyone look to the objective economic metrics and make the case that the economy is anything but roaring? Methinks not.

Oh wait.... you're being serious.

You do know that the S&P 500 is lower now than it was at the beginning of last year don't you?

Or that inflation has been higher than it has been in this century under CPAPpa Joe?

No?.....

Stocks are way up, and inflation is down. And you ignore the objective economic metrics I cited. Like GOP cultists, you seem to think that ignoring the metrics and chanting “The economy sucks!” does the trick. Not so.

Just look at the numbers during Biden's term in office. I told nothing but the thruth.

It's you who are bragging that Biden brought down inflation from over 13.8% to "only" 3.8%. Don't you realize what inflation has run during this century?

Do you want to compare American's buying power today vs when Biden took office.

You lump me in with the GOP when you are just as selective with the number you use as they were with Orange Foolius.

Your metrics are carefully chosen numbers that show Biden's performance in the best possible light compared to mine which show the entire picture of Biden's performance in office. In fact - if I wanted to play games with the number like you do I'd point out that the numbers from the first months of Biden's tenure should really belong to Trump because Biden had to have some time to put his policies in place.

You are trying to give Biden credit for starting to pull the economy out of the ditch that he drove it into.

As always I am the most fair, impartial and bipartisan poster on this forum. No one with any brains at all would think that Trump was better than Biden but Biden remains either the worst or second worst Democratic President in the last 100 years.

Trump is awful. Biden is awful. Those who make claims to the contrary are liars, plain and simple. There truly is no nuance there.

Carefully chosen? Ridiculous. I referred to the objective economic metrics always used to judge economic performance. You ignored them and provided a cartoon of Lisa Simpson. You lose.

Carefully chosen is exactly what you posted. Any fair person would say that you look at the entire record and not just a portion of it.

You're just pissed off because I called you out on it.

I did refer to the entire record - all of the traditionally viewed objective economic metrics. You referred to one of the many stock indexes over a very limited period of time, along with inflation, which is global and has been decreasing in the USA. You then stooped to a cartoon of Lisa Simpson.

You should do the right thing and concede my point.

Just post the numbers from Biden's entire tenure and then make the comaprisons you made in your original post. We both know wht they'll show....

Posting all numbers from Biden’s entire tenure is obviously impossible, as you know.

Focus on specifics. His record jobs numbers? The record low unemployment rate? The very healthy economic growth? The soaring stock market? Soaring real estate values? What do you dispute when moved to paste in your Simpson cartoons?

Obviously post the numbers to date - surely you can do that. And if you do you won't be bragging about BIDENOMICS, you'll be whining about Bidenflation™

You don't get credit for dragging the car out of the ditch you drove it into.

Post “the numbers”? Again, what “numbers” do you dispute? You do not dispute the specifics of anything I have said. You’re just playing games, pasting in Simpsons cartoons and going with the “Biden economy sucks” jive. Try to be better than that.

Let me spell out what numbers are important.

The S&P 500 on the day that Biden took office and today.
Compare that to other President's performance prorated over their terms.
See how well Biden looks.

Or just ask the American people what they think. https://www.cnn.com/2023/08/03/politics/cnn-poll-economic-pessimism-joe-biden/index.html

It's pretty obvious that America sees Biden as a failed or at best a mediocre President. Better than Trump - yes. A great or even President? No way. Maybe you think that way. That's your right.

Just as it is my right to say that your idolization of Biden is pretty much the same as those idiots on the right that venerate Trump. Nothing but partisanship. YOU should do better. I have nothing but contempt for the idiots on the right but I expect more from those on the left.

The final chapter hasn't been written...far from it. What is obvious is that fewer Americans agree with you than you think. You think others should do better. You could do better than sitting on a fence taking pictures. Enjoy your schtick. Most of us in PJ on both sides have been around these kinds of forums for a long time and have got your number.

And back you go to the same lone stock index, ignoring all the objective economic performance metrics I noted, along with pasting in another Simpsons cartoon.

Very lame.
