The political brinksmanship helped lead to “everything else” by driving the debt way up, which helped lead to Trump’s election, then meant that Trump had to drastically cut pandemic readiness funding to get the tax cut for the rich he wanted, which meant much more spending and much more economic damage due to Covid than if the U.S. had been adequately prepared, etc. …
