Milquetoast Merrick to name special counsel in Trump criminal probe

Nah, I can’t pretend to know the dynamics under Trump. Again, the Fed board makes the rate decisions, not the Fed chair. They sure should have raised rates early in Trump’s term, and they didn’t, but I can’t say what Powell would have done left to his own devices. Neither can you.

But under Biden, Powell and the Fed board did what you wanted done - they raised the rates. Yet here you are criticizing Biden for re-nominating Powell.

Again, that is some very weak tea. Kinda like dishwater.

;-)
They had no choice with inflation at 40 year highs
How often do you drink dishwater to have such knowledge of how it taste verses weak tea?

BTW: dishwater drinker, Trump hasn't been President in almost 2 years.

They started hitting the brakes when the car was already going over the cliff.

Fairly easy to understand that concept isn't it?

Maybe you need some coffee instead of tea.... or maybe some adderall if you can find it thanks to the supply chain issues that I'm sure that Biden couldn't possibly have done anything about.

So Biden should have nominated a Fed chair who would NOT support raising the rates?

You are being intentionally dense. Biden should have nominated someone who had shown the ability to handle the job, someone that would have started raising rates when they needed to be raised not someone who could be bullied into leaving them low until there was no alternative, you know - someone competent. Sort of like the opposite of many of Biden's appointees like Merrick Garland, Janet Yellen and the nameless dolt that has never been held accountable for the logistics in the Afghanistan withdrawal.

Can’t you see how weak your case is? You’re bashing Biden for nominating a Fed chair who presided over the actions you support. Your “reasoning” is that Biden should have instead nominated someone else who supports the post-Biden decisions you support, but would have supported pre-Biden decisions you support. The end result being the same - post-Biden Fed decisions you support.

You getting dizzy yet?

ANY economist would be raising rates in this environment. A competent one would have done so a year and a half ago. The object is to appoint competent people that are pro-active, not re-active.

OK, we’ll, we have come full circle. And your position now is that any Fed chair nominee would have supported post-Biden rate increases, which you and Powell also support, yet you still bash Biden for nominating Powell.

You are discovering how hard it is to engage in mindless Biden bashing. It just doesn’t stand up to analysis. I don’t think you have your heart in it.

No - you are just trolling.

Very simply - the Fed should have started raising interest rates over a year and a half ago. At that time Biden and his mouthpieces were claiming that inflation would be "transitory", ie - not a big deal. Many other economists thought otherwise - they were right, Biden's crew was wrong. Even Biden's big economic star Janet Yellen has admitted this - https://www.nbcnews.com/business/economy/treasury-secretary-janet-yellen-admits-was-wrong-inflation-rcna31416

Biden's crew got it wrong. They waited and waited and waited until they could wait no longer while inflation reared it's head. They waited far too long and had to raise rates at an unprecedented rate because of this.

You would like to blame Trump. After all Trump is the one that appointed Marshmallow Powell in the first place. And then bullied him. So he deserves blame. But Biden had a chance to get rid of him and did not. He RE-APPOINTED the Marshmallow. That is incompetence.

Please. You’re just repeating yourself. My responses are above. The “trolling” nonsense? Take your whuppin’ like a man.

It’s worth every cent to put Trump in prison where he belongs.

“Although noting that the move was not legally required, Zeldin believes it was “prudent” for Garland to have appointed Smith to try to insulate the investigations from the perception of improper political influence.”
