MSNBC in Rating Spiral, Gee I wonder why

NYT MONDAY: MSNBC IN DEEP RATINGS SPIRAL...

This is pathetic.

That's what happens when you 'make up' news.

Rachel Maddow, the biggest star on the MSNBC cable network, just posted her lowest quarterly ratings results ever.

“Morning Joe,” MSNBC’s signature morning program, scored its second-lowest quarterly ratings, reaching an average of just 87,000 viewers in the key news demographic group.

And “Ronan Farrow Daily,” the network’s heavily promoted new afternoon show, which stars a 26-year-old Rhodes Scholar with a high-profile Hollywood lineage, has been largely a dud.

Though it has mostly happened quietly, which may be a comment on the cable network’s larger status in the media landscape, MSNBC has seen its ratings hit one of the deepest skids in its history, with the recently completed third quarter of 2014 generating some record lows.

While the other cable news channels will be talking about missing airliners, ISIS, or Ebola, MSNBC will be talking about the Palins or the Chris Christy. So you can see why they are losing the ratings battle. Its all about one sided politics on MSNBC and its the side that doesn't watch news or keep up on current events.

Lefties complain about Fox reporting continuously about ISIS, Ebola, or any of the IMPORTANT subjects that most people want to hear about. No wonder more people watch Fox, they want to know what's going on in the world, they don't care about Palin or Christy or any of the "non" news that MSNBC talks about.

To be honest, I watch it from time to time but get bored with the tired bashing instead of being informed in depth. Chris Hayes is my favorite along with Melissa on the weekends. Kornacki is good too. Rachel is getting tired, Tweety bird is a joke, Al is hard to watch, Lawrence does good work but is a bit strident and Ed, well, Ed is Ed. Liberals don't watch this kind of stuff, it gets to be too repetitive.

It's telling that the top poster doesn't seem to realize that fealty to ANY agendized commercial media, isn't something to brag about.

The Fox/GOPs - all of whom deny that they ever watch Fox - seem convinced that its cable-ratings success actually validates what it's selling.
You have remanded everyone who doesn't share your views to the "fox/gop". I've read it dozens of times in your posts.
What I don't get is why someone would suppose that folks lie about what TV channels they watch?
It's been my experience that the liberals here talk more about personalities on Fox than the conservatives who are alleged to be glued to the screen do.

You're the numbteenth who's weenie-whined about my use of my term, "Fox/GOP". Once again, I only do do to distinguish the current interation of GOPism, from the more traditional Republican Party. If you don't perceive any difference well....shame on you.

Weenie whining? Just stating a fact.

I don't think Fox news represents the traditional republican party or a new republican party. I think they, like CNN and MSNBC and HLN(is it?), just represent a bunch of people with good gimmicks that sell.

You seem too hung up here, with Fox - the commercial entity. If you can't perceive any difference between today's GOP and prior iterations of the Republican Party, I understand why that's all you've got to go on.

Simple. People who want to see the news avoid a place where news stories are provably false and just made up. That's why MSNBC consistently has low and plummeting ratings.

MSNBC/National Socialist Democrat Party.

I kind of think of Fox as a family, the people that work there are quite personable and seem to work well together, are pleasant to watch, and while critical of the National Socialist Democrat Party, and their leader Obama, they don't do it in a hateful way and at least do present arguments from the other side, by such as Juan Williams, members of the National Socialist leadership, some pretty extreme such as that lunatic that made the commercial blaming the Ebola crisis on Republicans cutting funding, which even the WP said was a Lie.

The only real right winger is Hannity. Greta is tough on both sides, so is Megyn Kelly, who I believe has the best prime time news/opinion show.
