NBC News in Full Panic! "Speaking freely on Twitter could impact the midterm elections"

No, you didn't. Quit lying.
Sorry, not getting the connection. Did Hitler call for peaceful extermination of the Jews? Did the J6 mob start extermination Jews because Trump called for peaceful protest?

You're making no sense.

And...by the way, Hitler did, in fact, call for the annihilation of the Jews.

And I get to do it again :)

You really should quit lying.

Isn’t correcting lies with facts exactly what you complain about Twitter doing now? Anyway, you “corrected” facts with lies.
So you're claiming that Hitler never called for the annihilation of the Jews? Wow, you and @write on must be avid FOX News watchers, as ill informed as you both seem to be.

As was shown, Trump did not call a mob to violence. He called for a peaceful and patriotic protest. That's why the fascists on the left have to put on a show in order to smear him. Because they would have no hope in an actual court of law.

Trump is always going to have his place on the right in the same way that Obama is always going to have his place on the left. If you can't deal with that, I'm sorry for you. But he's obviously broken you and you should IMHO find help.
Everyone knew there would be mob violence.
Especially when he was working with people who intended to cause mob violence.

Ex-Oath Keeper testifies that leader Stewart Rhodes said he was in
contact with Trump Secret Service

Ex-Oath Keeper testifies that leader Stewart Rhodes said he was in
contact with Trump Secret Service
John Zimmerman told jurors that Rhodes, who's on trial for seditious conspiracy, claimed at a September 2020 rally to have the phone number of someone with the Secret Service who was in contact with former president Donald Trump.

Zimmerman testified that he didn't know whether Rhodes had a connection to Trump, whom he tried to speak with directly by phone the night of the Jan. 6 insurrection, according to another Oath Keeper militant who pleaded guilty seditious conspiracy in May.

Keep trying. One day you may actually post a fact.

No, I’m claiming that he called for the annihilation of the Jews the same way Trump called for extralegal violence to secure his power.

You mean peacefully and patriotically. :)
No, I mean using Aesopian language designed to allow him an escape hatch to walk it back should the verbal calls to arms (themselves only one exhortation alongside direct calls to violence by someone acting on Trump’s authority as his attorney, tweets demanding a “wild” response, and careful coordination of armed operations under the auspices of his underlings) prove to look bad in retrospect.

In other words, only liberals could hear the "raid the capital" message in the "peacefully and patriotically" speech.

Trump could have told everyone to go home and play with their teddy bear and we still would be having this conversation. This is what fascists do, find people guilty and assign the crime as needed.

And you're a good fascist. :)

Obviously, every Trump loyalist heard and understood that message too when they raided the Capitol.

Radical leftists continue their assault on logic and the first amendment by labeling free speech a threat to democracy.

Beta fascists at BBC were quick to chime in as well, crying about "guardrails being dropped" by allowing anyone who questions government propaganda or the current thing by allowing "misinfo & conspiracy theories will thrive".

Tip to democrats: Declaring free speech a threat to democracy is fascism 101.

The people who prefer a controlled narrative only prefer it when they are the ones doing the controlling...Any threat to that dominion, real or imagined, causes them angst.

Thus, the panic.

Which would have been amazing considering the raid was planned over facebook weeks in advance. That kind of clairvoyance is rare.
Yes, the raid was planned by the Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, and other ringleaders in conjunction with the Trump campaign. But part of the plan was to call for a big rally on January 6 and then encourage rally goers who weren’t part of the planning to join the attack.

So then you admit that Trump didn't cause the riot.

Thanks for confirming you lied all this time. :)

Of course he did. It was his campaign that coordinated the planning based on his plan to arbitrarily declare victory and baselessly suggest fraud. The intent of the riot was to secure Trump’s election goals.

Stossel:

Now it appears that Elon Musk will take control of Twitter.

Good.

Musk calls himself a "free speech absolutist." He said he invested in Twitter because he believes in "its potential to be the platform for free speech." Twitter should be the "town square" where everyone has a voice.

That's great.

But what if tweeting gets ugly? What if a tweet threatens someone or spreads "misinformation"? Musk says, "If it's a gray area, let the tweet exist."

I agree. Censorship rarely works. It causes hate to bubble up in secret places, where fewer sensible people are present to refute it. The best antidote to ugly speech ... is more speech.

Still, any discussion site needs content moderation. Platforms can become cesspools. People drawn to conspiracy theories tend to be drawn to more than one.

But allowing some of that is better than trying to stop it all.

When the news first broke that Musk might buy Twitter, the totalitarian left was upset. For years, their content moderators have dominated Twitter. Now that's threatened.

Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich even called Musk's vision for a freer internet "the dream of every dictator."

That's just nonsense. It's dictators who are most eager to censor. Simple-minded leftists just hate independent businessmen rocking their socialist boats.

Musk trying to buy Twitter is the market at work. If his vision fails, users will move to another site.

Let the competition begin.
