"Name calling is something people resort to when they have lost the debate. Name Calling is reportable and we will track who generates name call reports and decide on how long the worst abusers will be banned."

More childish rules for children. Have not posted here since May, and yet you send me a copy of more useless rules. Hell, even Christ called others names. Quit acting like edited, and grow up.

Zzzz. Then beat it.

PLEASE RESPOND IN THIS THREAD THAT YOU HAVE READ THE RULES. THANK YOU!

New/Updated Rules as a result of our Chat with the PJ users:
1) Calling someone a racist is an automatic 3 day temp ban and will be deleted.

2) Posting grotesque pictures or nudity is against the advertising terms so those are an automatic 3 day ban and have to be deleted.

3) On your first violation after today (10/10/2019) on new content you will be pm'd by me and we will discuss whether or not you want to continue to post here at PJ.

4) Posting any personal threats or personal information about another user is a permanent ban and a review to see if your account will be deleted.

5) If a user pm's me a picture of their alerts and its full of one person down rating a bunch of their posts then the ratings abuser will lose the ratings buttons.

6) Name calling is something people resort to when they have lost the debate. Name Calling is reportable and we will track who generates name call reports and decide on how long the worst abusers will be banned.

7) Users that make reports that are not violations or abuse the report feature will have it removed.

8) Thread derailment is no longer reportable. If you constantly derail threads or avoid a topic you will be thread banned with possible further punishment.

The moderators moderate all users the same, but they are like policemen in that with over 700 posts a day average you may do a violation and it goes unnoticed. You may do one violation in 100 days and it gets caught? If you do the crime you do the time. Don't go and cry to your base of friends that you got caught and someone else didn't and don't cry to them that you get treated differently. You don't know who gets banned and for what or how often. Its just like a speeding ticket. The guy that speeds once a year could get caught. The guy that speeds every day might not. Luck of the draw.

Accept the punishment and move on. It isn't a big deal.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These Old Rules still apply:

"Signatures must not be poster quotes of any type."

RACIAL, ETHNIC, HOMOPHOBIC, GENDER, OR RELIGIOUS SLURS
Action will be taken regarding any post or image that is deemed by moderators to be slurs against groups of people."

ATTACKING OR CALLING OUT STAFF OR ADMINISTRATION

Moderators and Administrators, are volunteers who work hard to make the site as welcoming as possible.
Their duties do not include reading every post.
Your reporting of rule-breaking posts is welcome.

***Moderator Actions - Report any concerns over moderator actions in a PM to SW48.
Do Not make disrespectful posts about moderator action on the board.
Use the report feature."

PROFANITY..."
Posts, signatures, images, and links of this nature are forbidden

AVATARS

Avatars and profile pictures are governed by the same rules regarding other content - images that are obscene, insulting to any individual or group are not allowed and are subject to infraction.

SIGNATURES

Signatures must comply with all applicable forum rules, especially those on 'Flame/baiting' and 'Personal Attacks'. The use of quotations from other members in a signature is subject to the express consent of the member being quoted. Signatures should not contain more than one link, and links should not be primarily intended to advertise or sell any product, service or other forum.

MULTIPLE USER ACCOUNTS

"Sock puppets" - Multiple user accounts are not allowed. The use of anonymous proxy IP addresses and systems, which are often used to hide identities for the purposes of creating multiple accounts, is also prohibited. Usage of these tools can lead to immediate and permanent banning.

LINKS, ADVERTISING, IMPROPER QUOTING, AND COPYRIGHT VIOLATIONS

Links in posts must be relevant to the discussion, and must not be intended simply to direct members to another website.

All quotes from other sources must be given appropriate credit, preferably with a link to the original article - long articles should be quoted from and/or summarized, not quoted in their entirety. Content copied from other sources must meet "fair use" guidelines, and violations of copyright will be deleted and subject to infraction. When quoting other posters, we ask that you use the site's "quote" function, so that other members can backtrack the conversation if they wish."
1. If someone makes a racist comment they are a racist and it should be pointed out
2. You can't whine about what Trump may or may not have done while ignoring the same actions of 4 years ago it must be pointed out.
3. posting lies will start the whole shit storm over again.
I do not agree with these changes.

There is some confusion as to how the moderators define the term "troll." In regular cyber terminology, the best definition I could find is one of many:

To post inflammatory or irrelevant material on (an electronic forum) to provoke responses.

Who gets to define what is inflammatory here? (Irrelevant I can get. In Logic 101, it's known as the Red Herring Fallacy.)

Is inflammatory just material that triggers babies and snowflakes? Linking to Rush Limbaugh would qualify for such a ridiculous rule, if it existed.

What is inflammatory? Just information that provokes a large group? If that were the case, Edited would be banned for life because every nutball post he vomits is inflammatory and is offensive to intelligent people. Or does that term only work for liberals? Is this place becoming one sided in that aspect?

I'm wondering if you're getting a lot of complaints from liberals about this. Is that why you continue to change the rules? I was under the impression that this was a place of debate and differences of opinion? They are not always argued with Marquis de Queensbury rules. Sometimes differences get heated. It appears like you're trying to protect the snowflakes.

I agree that responses should be relevant and that posters should not be permitted to change the subject whenever they lose an argument. I agree that the term "racist" has been used so much that most of us don't even want to see the gdam word any more.

I'm just wondering where the line is, between disagreement (sometimes documented by sites some might find offensive, ideologically) and an attempt to spare a snowflake's feelings.

Is the term "snowflake" now an inflammatory term? Is THAT off limits?

Stuff like that.
