We could have been out of Iraq within 6 months if we'd left Jay Garner in charge. Instead we stopped Garner's efforts to organize new Iraqi leadership to replace Saddam's cronies with elected leaders...Paul Bremer rolled into town and we almost immediately had a major insurrection by the disbanded Iraqi army that had now become Al Qaeda in Iraq.

Force could have been air strikes. Could have meant a blockade of Iraq. Could have meant arming the Kurds and southern Shiites...

The bill passed with 215 republicans for it and 126 dems against. In the senate only 1 republican voted against and 21 democrats voted against...

I think they should have seen Bush was lying and that he intended to go to war, even though he promised only to use force if the inspectors were not allowed to return.
