i dont get the impression that obama makes the connection between "voter ID cards" and "birth certificate or other proof of citizenship".

if this were the case, he wouldn't have attorney general holder fighting to overturn the citizenship rules surrounding various states' voter registration process.

california does not require "proof of identiity" to issue a state drivers license. they routinely provide them to illegal immigrants on "humanitarian" grounds, because you can't get to your (illegal) job if you can't drive.
