They CAN'T say it's a good thing. So, do they say the proposed cuts should've been more?....or less?

I'm sure the supporters of Fox/GOP/Mitt will have firm opinions around all this. But, the problem Fox/GOP/Mitt are going to run into real quick, is that half of 'em will be shouting one, and half will be shouting the other!

Isn't it about time folks, that maybe we start letting the people who need protecting to do the protecting themselves. We are spending more than the other 9 countries next to us total, including Great Britian, Russia, China to name a few.

This on top of the 200,000 people we have employed in Homeland security, since 19 men with box cutters while Bush was president who brought down 4 planes which caused 3000 deaths.

We were paying 3000.00 a year for soldiers to fight and die during Vietnam, and now we paying them 38,000 for that right. Still not enough, but really should we have to have 700 soldiers dieing each and every year, spending 2 billion a week in an unfunded war game.

I say no, it's time to quit being the warrior of the world.

Are you referring to this?

Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta has concluded that the Army has to shrink even below current targets, dropping to 490,000 soldiers over the next decade, but that the United States should not cut any of its 11 aircraft carriers, according to Pentagon officials and military analysts briefed on the secretary’s budget proposals.

Mr. Panetta is to disclose the strategy guiding hundreds of billions of dollars in Pentagon budget cuts during an unusual Defense Department news conference on Thursday, when President Obama is to appear in the Pentagon briefing room and make remarks ahead of those by Mr. Panetta and Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Panetta plans even smaller army

Hurrah! You can say that again. I waqs almost amused to see some film taken in recent times of our foot soldiers still using antequated weapons from the ice age such as morters and machine guns etc.. What ever happened to this golden age of warfare we were told about? With all of the technology it still takes men on foot with handheld weapons to face off with the enemy when push come to shove and how much better are they armed than years ago?
