Political Censorship

I don't see much censorship on gardening or engineering forums, but when I visit political forum sites there is an amazing amount of censorship. The difference of course, is that the censorship that occurs on non political sites is just the essential stuff to keep the spammers away and handle basic admin type stuff. The censorship that occurs on political sites is a different variety, called "political censorship." Political censorship is where censorship is used to control the political narrative.


Here is how wiki defines censorship"

"Censorship is the suppression of speech, public communication, or other information. This may be done on the basis that such material is considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or "inconvenient". Censorship can be conducted by governments, private institutions and other controlling bodies."

Anybody here think political censorship is a good thing?

I'm glad to see that nobody here thinks that political censorship is a good thing. If one needs to use censorship to enforce his agenda, then his agenda doesn't stand up on it's own. Censorship is a form of cheating, and cheating is what many do when they can't win honestly.

One of the interesting things about censorship is that it typically occurs in the dark shadows of anonymity. Cheaters typically know deep down that they are cheaters, and typically know that cheating is shameful. This is why we often do not know when censorship happens, or when censors are plotting to commit their shameful deeds.

If you go to a crappy motel and flick on the lights, you may see cockroaches scurry to safe dark places. Cockroaches do not want to be identified, and neither do people who engage in or plot censorship.

One if the non intended consequences of political censorship is that this form of cheating ends up being a huge spotlight on what the problem that this corruption was meant to hide. "Let's go Brandon" for example, was a bit of a mess when lefties tried to change the truth, but one of the reasons it went so viral was because big tech, little political forums, social media, and the left tried to censor the mess in order to clean it up. The censorship just showed that the left was corrupt. Another example is where I recently exposed undeniable racism occurring in this shrinking community. The censorship of that racism did not make it go away, it just validated the already rock solid case exposing blatant and undeniable racism. When Trump was censored by big tech, all it really did was rally freedom loving patriots and shine a big spotlight on how corrupt these big tech companies are.

Basically, political censorship tends to backfire, as an unintended consequence. Corruption doesn't always pay what people think it will.

What have you posted that was censored? Did you throw out an insult, call someone a racist, post porn?

I've seen posts that push some crap about Biden or Trump being pedophiles being deleted...but nothing about the election or accusations of fraud in 2020 or about Biden's policies or Trump's.

I have not called anybody racist. I have not insulted anybody. I have not posted porn. I post politely.

What I do ask though, is that members who post should post something that demonstrates that they have in fact read the opening post, and that they do understand it. Can you demonstrate that you read and understood the opening post here? That you understand the thread premise?

What I do ask though, is that members who post should post something that demonstrates that they have in fact read the opening post, and that they do understand it. Can you demonstrate that you read and understood the opening post here? That you understand the thread premise?

Demonstrate how? My interpretation of what you wrote is that there is political censorship on PJ. My response is that I have not seen it.

Salacious crap without evidence is just that. Probably the meat and potatoes of most political debate and discussions. Once this salacious crap is censored though, it becomes political censorship. This is when I like to look deeper, since somebody wanted it silenced. When somebody wants political agenda silenced, they typically have something to hide.

Engineering a new narrative, also known as thread derailing, is the only weapon that people have to fight with if they can't post superior logic or superior arguments, and they do not have the authority to fight with censorship.

The first ans only reference to anything besides the thread premise, opening post, or title was by you. Can you demonstrate that you read and understand the opening post? If you resent me and my thread so much, why not dismantle it or my logic by posting superior arguments or logic? Evasion is as sketchy as censorship.
