Racist Root of NRA's Blood Money

What feature of identity politics drives the fear of crime?

"One facet of that identity is rooted in race.

"The numbers are striking: last year, when the Pew Research Center asked, 'What do you think is more important — to protect the right of Americans to own guns, OR to control gun ownership?' 73 percent of blacks and 69 percent of Hispanics said it was more important to control gun ownership while 55 percent of whites said protecting gun rights was more important.

"Other studies back this up: fear of crime actually predicts support for gun control, while racial resentment is a far better predictor of opposition to gun control.

"This is hardly surprising in a country where many whites long saw citizenship as entitling them to violently dispossess and enslave people of color.o_O

"Any real effort to counter the NRA’s influence must take seriously its ability to mobilize millions and the content of the identity that’s mobilizing them."

Or you know actually understanding the Constitution, having relatives even who fought for independence, they actually understand the concept of liberty and freedom. I

The vast majority of white people in this country never owned slaves.
100% of white people living in the US today base their legal system on a document formulated to ensure the survival of chattel slavery over two hundred years ago. It's hardly surprising when a few contemporary timid souls conflate their liberty and freedom with owning firearms.

Ridiculous. Yes, blacks were considered livestock. Get over it. The document was formulated to ensure the thriving of men ( which yes, blacks weren't considered men at the time) as free. Now that you are recognized as men - you too are free and the same document that guarantees the liberty of the white man.. now guarantees the liberty of the black men. Recognizing that our government may turn on us, or that we may be obligated to fight for our country on our own homeland against enemies foreign and domestic and wanting to ensure we are prepared for that has nothing at all to do with with the wrongful classification of blacks as less than human. It does explain much though - why it was relatively easy to conquer african tribes. Apparently recognizing that each is entitled to be free - but to do so - must be prepared to fight for it, is something that is not inherent in the human race.

I missed the NRA's contributions to Democrats?

https://jacobinmag.com/2018/02/national-rifle-association-members-florida-school-shooting

"The result of all this is that the NRA boasts 5 million dues-paying members — who fund roughly half of the organization’s $337 million annual budget — and close to 15 million Americans who identify as NRA members even if they don’t pay dues.

"The organization’s services and leadership opportunities coalesce into something more: a group identity that mobilizes both actual members and the millions of others who think of themselves as the kind of person who belongs to the NRA.

It's always been Democrats who want to restrict guns from blacks.

Why did you vote for him?

Which constitutional right is he fighting hard to take away?
He’s not the one doing or promoting violence against demonstrators in their rightful public space. He’s not the one trying to infringe on legal gun owners’ rights, his is not the party that refuses to enforce laws that protect legal inmocent Americans, he’s not the one condoning protests and violence against the police and branding them as racists and thugs.

"Trust, but Verify"
the racist democrats passed the first gun control law denying their recently freed slaves the right to own a firearm. the kkk was founded by the democrats as the militant arm of the democratic party in order to restrict movement and interaction between the races.
the democrats passed the "marriage license" law specifically to prevent blacks from marrying whites..

look it up.

throughout this nations history, from before the civil war, up to and including today,,the democrats have been the same then, as they are today...the slave masters.

its been them all along..

He's a mobbed-up oligarch whose only concern is acquiring more wealth. Anyone who supports his agenda loses all credibility when it comes to condemning violence.

Yeah, sounds like a real capitalist!
The left wants to infringe or downright remove rights but Trump’s desire for wealth sure hurts the rest of us (!?).
Amazing the type of standards you espouse.

Do you condone Trump's money laundering?
