ok, so maybe I made up 'lotterization', but I made you look if your here, so....
Not just because of impeachment and current politics, but over all-
would we be better of as a nation if we had all positions in both Houses of Congress and the Presidency filled by lottery instead of election?
We have the technology to do it. Do a lottery by congressional district for representatives, by state for senators and by nation for president, vice president.
Pick by social security number. Once selected, then ensure they meet the constitutional requirements for office and for a security clearance, then swear in.
One term only, cannot be selected again and they could not be hired by lobbyists or be appointed to any position by a future President.
No pension or health insurance after leaving office, only while serving.
Think about it- no electioneering, no campaign finance frackery, no debates or voting issues/ "russian interference". Make a law similar to the one that protects Guardsmen/Reservists from losing their job if they are activated to protect the selected from losing theirs.
Other then the obvious fact that the people currently in power (at any time) would never authorize this, is there any reason why this wouldn't work?
