Republicans fixing to blame Iraq meltdown on Obama...

Bugsy McGurk

President
Way back in 2003 Iraq war opponents predicted that the net result of GWB's Iraq war would be a violent, sectarian nightmare closely aligned with Iran.

And what do we have now? A violent, sectarian nightmare closely aligned with Iran.

So, the Iraq war supporters should admit their mistake and apologize for costing us tens of thousands of US casualties and trillions of dollars to produce a violent, sectarian nightmare closely aligned with Iran, right?

Nope. They will just blame it all on Obama. They are already starting to do it. How? By claiming that Obama ended the war "too soon." And which timeline has Obama used in withdrawing our troops and ending the war? The timeline GWB set down in his agreement with Iraq.

GWB's war, GWB's timeline to end the war, and the mess in Iraq is therefore Obama's fault. GOP "logic" in action.

NOPE not from me, 'O' tried to extend SOFA, Iraq would have nothing to do with 'O's' deal........so it is what it is........will they start digging more massive graves as when Saddam ruled the roost?

Did you say the same of LBJ's VIETNAM?

Kinda like Newt pretending he's Clinton. He lists Clinton's accomplishments as his own, as if he were President at the time, in an Iowa ad I saw yesterday. These guys are shameless.

So you recognize that the Iraq war was a horrible blunder that should be blamed on GWB?
All GWB did was place a band aid on Iraq's meltdown of 2003, band aid is now removed and the Sunni/Shiite will return to their meltdowns..........

btw: at least GWB went to and got Congress approval for Iraq (how did dem/libs vote) 'O' doesn't consider that necessary=>:Libya, Uganda, etc; etc..........

I see you still have no complaints of LBJ and VIETNAM evidently............:anon:

"If 'O' had gotten his way, WE'd still be in Iraq"

Great assessment. Did you forget he was one who opposed going into Iraq from the get-go and that it was a large factor in getting him elected?

If Obama had gotten his way, we'd have never invaded.

"US Military did not fail, Washington failed!"

It wasn't Dems who said that anyone opposed to the war "hated the troops".

Do take your time and claim/prove that's false.

'O' probably voted PRESENT in 2002 and in 08 claimed "first" thing he would do if elected would be end war and bring troops home "you can take that to the bank" seems he "censored" lied straight face to his sheep.

Every time something went down in Iraq.Afgah.it was a dem/lib that said troops were guilty=>:Murtha.....remember him?

Barack Obama is commander-in-chief. And like you liberals used to love to say, "it happened on his watch".

Deal with it.

It's awfully difficult for any candidate to criticize Obama's Iraq withdrawal without advocating sending combat troops back into Iraq.*

Let the GOP/TP blame Obama. Fact is, the majority of Americans back Obama up on this one. And, it fills a 2008 campaign pledge.

*the GOP/TP Iraq attack on Obama will be more oblique. They'll claim Obama mishandled the SOFA negotiations. In the end it won't matter. Obama will receive credit for ending W's folly.
