Romney leading South Carolina polls

imreallyperplexed

New polls from South Carolina just came out and Romney was at 37%. I believe that Santorum was at 19% and Gingrich was at 18% so collectively, they were tied with Romney.

For a long time, I have been waiting for Romney to break the 25% ceiling before I would grant that he was a prohibitive favorite. With the new polls, I am willing to say that Romney - with his advantages in funds and organization - is building sufficient momentum to wrap up the nomination relatively early. I am always open to being surprised. But Romney is looking strong. If he begins to be the big leader in Florida polls, he will be hard to stop.

If this happens, I'll be happy to have a particular Republican matching up against Obama rather than a generic Republican or ABO.
