Stimulus checks will not arrive until September........Well that is really going to help the people starving now isn't it

What would be hypocritical is running for personal refuge in one of the few countries to break the chains of capitalism, imperialism, militarism, and racism, while leaving almost the entire world behind to continue to suffer from them.
I see, so you really look down on refugees.

I think you should do it anyway. Stop being a coward and move to North Korea.

It is a hodgepodge mixed market economy mixed with Islamic banking and public enterprises. Some 60% of the economy is still state owned, while tens of billions owned by business conglomerates that are made up of a division of Iran’s military known as the Revolutionary Guard (Sepah e Pasdaran). This has allowed for the government to evade sanctions and prop itself up by acquiring necessary funds for projects while keeping its books looking clean. It also employees many Iranians so it is a win win for them. They control a vast amount of wealth in the economy and one wonders how much corruption is involved when so much of the country’s economy is owned by such an institution.

The major educational institutions all teach modern neo-liberal economics, and there are many private owned businesses in Iran ranging from sports apparel to food processing. One of it’s sports clothing companies Merooj, is known internationally.
So, yes, private capitalists dominate production there, as I said.

No, I have the privilege of not having to be a refugee due to the wealth the U.S. gets from creating the conditions that reliably lead to refugee crises in so much else of the world.

If you think 40% is dominant, then I would consider suing whatever madrassa trained you. :)

Especially when part of the 60% that the government owns is the energy industry.
If any economically important sector is privately owned, government will always gear its decisions toward supporting that sector. 40% in private hands is more than enough to push around the rest of the economy. Especially given that includes:

100% of agriculture
100% of textiles
94% of auto manufacturing
88% of food processing
63% of pharmaceuticals
40% of leather goods
30% of metal work
10% of mining

Yes, of course Iran is a capitalist country.

There are also socialist countries, like N. Korea and Cuba. But they have weathered this (so far) without a public health crisis and without shutting down the economy.
If those places are far superior, go live there.

Oh wait, you won’t, and you know why you won’t.

You have it better here than there x100

Still not a capitalist nation though. You can argue it until you're blue in the face, it doesn't change reality.

I never claimed they were “far superior.” I pointed out that their social system (which improved their standard of living, just as it would improve the standard of living in the U.S. if the U.S. adopted such a system, even if their rapid advance and the U.S.’s slow decay have not yet reached a point where their standard of living has caught up to the U.S.) gave them advantages with respect to handling the COVId crisis.
