Taking a knee in America

Thanks, I enjoy reading and am always impressed by your mind-reading skills.
but a crushed throat would be fatal, that didn’t happen in the Garner case. Saying so is not a technicality, it’s a lie.
It was fatal. Again, do the minutiae of how the compression of his throat caused death matter that much?

It was the physical struggle and positional asphyxiation, not a neck injury they caused his death. The chokehold was NOT fatal.

“Positional asphyxiation”=the chokehold cut off his air supply.
No wrong. That's not positional asphyxiation.
If you had law enforcement training you'd already know you're wrong. But since you haven't, let's just go with a dictionary definition...

Positional asphyxia, also known as postural asphyxia, is a form of asphyxia which occurs when someone's position prevents the person from breathing adequately. Positional asphyxia may be a factor for people who die suddenly in a hog-tie restraint by police, prison (corrections) officers, military or health care staff. Positional asphyxia is also a common cause of death in infants.

People may die from positional asphyxia by simply getting themselves into a breathing-restricted position they cannot get out of, either through the person's own carelessness, as a consequence of another accident, or where the chest may be unable to fully expand.

does this somehow make it better or worse?

Makes it much better. In GARNER's case.
Nothing makes the current case acceptable, That was simply outrageous.
The only difference was that in the Floyd case it required a lot more willful dishonesty to deny the plain truth of the incident.

“Someone’s position prevents the person from breathing adequately” ... because the officer chose to restrain him in such a position.

Let's not condemn all cops. There are plenty of good cops.
There are bad apples who should be rooted out and never have been put on the force in the first place.
That Blue Code (and the police unions) protect the bad apples. That needs to stop.
Cops need proper training so they can deal with the public without racial bias. They are there to protect and serve.
Obama's DOJ had consent decrees with several police depts., the focus being on addressing and correcting racial bias.
That prick Trump/Sessions ended those consent decrees. Plus Trump has made many comments encouraging cops to act like pricks. That will only end when Trump is gone.
