The first of a thousand Dem ads about Mitt's record of "job creation" ;-)

All one has to do is take a look at the Bain record.

Lots of jobs created.

Of course, most of you liberals are too lazy to look up the facts. But hey, they're available if you want them.

Typical liberal bullshit.

Here's the truth:
Romney was not a part of the bankruptcy. He founded Bain in 1984 but left in 1999, two years before the filing and closure, although he is believed to have received income from the company after leaving. It isn’t known how much money, if any, Romney earned from Bain’s stake in the steel plant.

Now lets take a look at what REALLY caused the GST closure:

By 2001, facing increased competition from cheaper imported steel — and several years after a bitter labor dispute at the plant — GST Industries filed for bankruptcy and closed the subsidiary Kansas City operation, dismissing the remaining employees. A spokesman for the company said GST Steel lost $25 million in 2000.

Nice soundbite bullshit, but it just doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

Romney just needs to remind folks that GST was a failed company when they took over. Of course, he could also say that he wasn't even on the Bain board when it happened too. But I think pointing out the REAL reasons they went under would suffice.

Gawd, I love slapping liberals around today!

Uhmm...let's just start with Staple.

They employed about 70,000 people at the end of last year.

Staples...hmmm...that's an AMERICAN company, isn't it?

Why yes...yes it is.

Bo-4

Senator
CB, WHERE were the Bain jobs created? In which country?
Staples is the one they point to but it was the exception and not the rule. PLUS, they are exaggerating the numbers.

And of course, when they would shut down a factory and laid everyone off.. then hire them back at reduced wages, no benefits.. Mittens counts those as "jobs created".

Mittens MIGHT have been involved with creating 10,000 jobs.. not 100,000. The 100k number is more likely jobs KILLED. Ask Newt! ;-)

And the jobs at Staples compare with the jobs of steelworker in salary how?

and again, you are asking for a level of context that Romney is himself not engaged in. As I have pointed out about the 8% "stimulus failed" claim.

Turn about is fair play. And you are upset about this precisely because these sort of ads hit Romney right in the solar plexus on the one issue where he can try and claim not to be a FlipFlopper.

His PRIMARY claim for why he's running is that he wants to apply is MBA princples to managing the USA... Well we saw that with GWB...

Domino’s Pizza, Sealy, Brookstone, and Sports Authority.

Exceptions as well?

Not really. You see the Bain record was this: 22% of the companies Bain took over failed withing 8 years.

That means that 78% kept on going.

Not a bad track record.

GordonGecko

President
Bo, going into SC and into Florida, Newt will run against Romney on jobs.

He'll cite his own record (claiming he slept in the same bed with Reagan, and forced Clinton to bend to his will) and will claim HE created a gajillion new jobs....and point to Romney's record.

Save 'em up. :)

So? He's already walked that figure back.

The fact is...he did create jobs.

Sorry, but facts is facts.

And from YOUR OWN source:

According to employment data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment under Romney’s governorship went from 3,224,600 to 3,270,400. That’s an additional 45,800 jobs. And under Obama, despite recent gains, the nation as a whole still has 1.7 million fewer jobs than it did the month he took office.

So, what have we learned? Romney ran a successful business and created jobs in the private sector as well as overseeing a net creation of jobs as governor.

What had Obama done prior to being elected Jellyfish in chief?
