No republican could have won. California is so incredibly rigged that it's more or less a lost cause. Covid gave democrats the go ahead in that state to burn election law to the ground.

Well, where were the Republicans? Did they show as poll watchers and poll challengers? Did they oversee the counting? Did they get court injunctions to try to right the vote? This is why McCarthy, Issa, an Nunes - California Republicans - should have no leadership roles in congress nor prime committee assignments. They are precariously perched. The long term leaders should have more secure seats.

They could have run, stayed in congress on losing, and given a good GOP message the breath of CA. Honestly, the candidate matters a lot. It might have been 45-55. That would have set up some kind of Republican revival even if more at the local level. As it is the GOP doesn't fight because they're a bunch of fags.
