Not when the electorate by all indications is pissed at the party in power. In which case you would expect the out of power party to win more of the close races.What is inconsistent? Polls showed very close races in many of the house and senate elections around the country. When they are within the margin of error it is entirely consistent for either candidate to win. Feel free to show any poll within a few days of the election that was very wrong.
