The military turns on trump

Raoul_Luke

I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe you should drive.
you mean the ones started by republicans?
And once again you forget that I am not a republican, and that nobody beat them up more over the "war on terror" than I did. As soon as the republicans started freezing out the neocons, you lefties took them in with open arms. I'm not sure why it is you think that observing that the republicans started them makes your embrace of the (endless and unwinnable) wars somehow, what, noble? LOL!

So leaving them to be slaughtered by the Turks was a good idea, eh?

i’d be willing to bet that if and when Trump loses. He and all his fanboys will be whining about election fraud.
Well, now that we know you can riot and loot during covid (and Dems say its okay) you certainly can go to a voting booth (with RealID) and vote too. ha ha ha ha

Apparently Obama was unable to secure their, well, security in his eight years in office and he was infallible.

How do you ask a man to be the last man to die in the middle east? How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?

How can you manage to remember to breathe?

The Syrian Kurds fought at our side starting in 2014 against ISIS. They continued even when Trump took over in 2017. How many American soldiers were killed in Syria after Feb 2017?
Trump left them to the mercy of the Turks...how many Americans had died in combat against the Turks?

Your bullshit RNC version of history is killing your claim of non-partisanship.

Mattis' resignation was over abandoning the Kurds. What did he predict? If it was the death of the Kurds as soon as our troops were out of sight...he was correct. The Turks attacked immediately.

How are we better off? Did we just show that we couldn't be trusted to stand by our allies....
Turkey is in NATO.

remember?

LOL! Now an anti-neocon viewpoint is "RNC bullshit?" I don't think bullshit means what you think it means.

The Kurds' conflict with Turkey long predates the US' involvement in the area. The Obama Administration stepped into its alliance with the Syrian Kurds to use them to continue the neocon efforts to battle against ISIS - not to resolve their long standing conflict with the Turks. They were, in fact, essentially the PKK, which we had previously designated as terrorists. The fact is that the region is a mess of shifting loyalties and unstable relationships; and Trump, unlike Obama, at least armed the Kurds before withdrawing the US troops, which has given them a fighting chance.

Your suggestion that the US was obligated to keep troops in the region to protect the Kurds forever is killing your claim of not being a neocon. Embrace it - you wear it well...

So , as usual. This thread is totally and 100% defeated. False Story- False narrative and 100% BS.

Mattis was crying about US soldiers violating rights.

At no time were American Soldiers ordered to violate anyone’s rights and certainly not to provide any photo op. That just did not happen. General Mattis has a well deserved reputation for being a prolific reader. Perhaps he might consider re-reading the U.S. Constitution and the Insurrection Act with Amendments, which provide President Trump with the authority that he is considering using.

General Mattis might wish to consider; Presidents Jefferson, Jackson, Grant, Hayes, Cleveland, Wilson, F. Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Kennedy, L. Johnson, and G HW Bush have all invoked the Insurrection Act. Since 1968, it has been invoked 5 times…to quell riots.

A couple of my regular readers also noted some pretty egregious uses of the Insurrection Act (Hat tips to JT & MK).

1863-Lincoln used Federal Troops to quell the draft riots.

1919-Wilson used Federal Troops to quell Chicago race riots

1932-Hoover used Federal Troops to disperse World War 1 Veterans who were in Washington peaceably marching to receive their promised bonuses. Then Majors Eisenhower and Patton took part in this under the command of General MacArthur.

1946-Truman sent Federal Troops to disperse striking railway workers.

The constitutional basis for President Trump’s proposed but not yet decided, much less, executed action, is long established. Which brings us to the actions in Lafayette Park, where Park Police properly and safely dispersed rioters, criminals who were attacking them. This was not in any way an abuse of power or a case of excessive force, despite a concerted effort by the left to characterize it as such.

General Mattis undoubtedly retains a clearance, so I’m sure the Park Police and the Secret Service would both be willing to let him read their after-action reports (AAR) regarding the actions in Lafayette Park and also let him review the video. Once he has done this, I believe as an honest man of integrity, would change his opinion..

General Mattis, Sir, you have a reputation for integrity and scholarship. You might not agree with President Trump’s agenda, or his communication style and that’s fair. However, at no time has he violated the rights of American Citizens. At no time has he encouraged the Army or the Marine Corps to do so. I urge you to “review the tape” and apologize for your intemperate remarks.

What are you proposing? We should have gone to battle with a NATO nation? Trump took our troops out of the battle zone. Should we have stayed there with the Kurds and fought against our ally, Turkey?
Obviously his answer is yes (and stay forever).

Retired Admiral dumps on Trump.

Still crying over this ?

.Those So Called Protest Zones were IN FACT ..SPAWNING GROUNDS that WERE Erupting into Violent RIOTING

How about rioters? Or those who burn a church? Like this one.
Are they "protesters" The more I hear from these retired/former military politicians, the happier I am that they are former. And I certainly wouldn't brag about being connected to NATO.
