The right wing lie about Margret Sanger and racism.

Spamature

Reading this letter makes it clear that Sanger was for her time a socially progressive woman who and a keen insight on race relations in this country.

Here are some of the right wing lies that have been debunked by fact checking.

Here is a link to the letter most often used by the right to claim that Sanger was as racist.

In it, she is misquoted out of context to give the appearance she wanted, "to exterminate the negro population".

It is a shame that the people who claim piety often build that declaration on a foundation of LIES.

Margaret Sanger is a monster, who is responsible for the HOLOCAUST.
She said EVERY horrible thing she has been quoted as saying, and your idiot OPINION RAGS will not convince educated people otherwise.

Sanger gave us concentration camps and Planned Parenthood. She is in HELL for her crimes against humanity.

Unlike you wingnuts, I have RELIABLE and truthful sources.

Margaret Sanger’s extreme brand of eugenics
But stubborn facts and our nation’s new scrutiny of our racial history have eroded the mythology of Sanger and laid bare her eugenics project in its racist, coercive details.
Sanger called for the sterilization of those with mental and physical disabilities, including “morons, mental defectives, epileptics.”

As we demythologize Sanger, it is important to recognize how extreme her brand of eugenics was. Her much-republished “My Way to Peace” (1932) presents Sanger’s essential eugenics platform. It argues that to preserve racial hygiene, the government should enact three coercive measures. First, it should sterilize those with mental and physical disabilities, including “morons, mental defectives, epileptics.” Second, it should segregate on state-run concentration farms a much broader public of impoverished and criminal citizens, including paupers, prostitutes, drug addicts, illiterates and the unemployed. If the second group reformed its behavior and accepted sterilization, it could return to mainstream society. By Sanger’s own estimate, 15 million to 20 million citizens would live under this regime of segregation and sterilization

She even presented at a Ku Klux Klan rally in 1926 in Silver Lake, N.J. She recounted this event in her autobiography: “I accepted an invitation to talk to the women’s branch of the Ku Klux Klan … I saw through the door dim figures parading with banners and illuminated crosses … I was escorted to the platform, was introduced, and began to speak … In the end, through simple illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered” (Margaret Sanger, “An Autobiography,” Page 366). That she generated enthusiasm among some of America’s leading racists says something about the content and tone of her remarks.

What's next? Your biased opinion rags wanna claim Adolf Eichmann was misquoted as well?

Now the idiots are supporting Margaret Holocaust Sanger?

Sanger, who helped found the organization as a birth control clinic in 1916 Brooklyn, has been a thorn in the side of abortion advocates for years because of her support for the then-popular eugenics movement of the 1920s and 1930s, which promoted selective breeding that often targeted people of color and the disabled.

In 1921, Sanger wrote that "the most urgent problem today is how to limit and discourage the over-fertility of the mentally and physically defective." She also spoke to the women’s auxiliary of the Ku Klux Klan at a rally in New Jersey and supported the Supreme Court’s 1927 decision in Buck v. Bell, which allowed states to forcibly sterilize people deemed "unfit" by the government.

Russell K. Pearce (born June 23, 1947) is a far-right American politician and Republican (GOP) former member of the Arizona State Senate. He rose to national prominence as the primary sponsor of Arizona SB1070, a controversial anti-illegal immigrant measure that was signed into law in 2010. He was elected President of the Arizona Senate when the Senate began its January 2011 term but then suffered a dramatic reversal of fortune when he was ousted in a November 2011 recall election, the first legislator in Arizona history to be so removed from office.[1] He served as Vice-Chair of the Arizona GOP, but he resigned the position in September 2014 after controversy over a eugenicist comment about forced sterilization of poor women on Medicaid.[2]

You poor pitiful fools have been gaslighted to the point of insanity.

OK mr. Spamaster, you go right ahead and support your racist friend:

Recent articles have reported on an unearthed video from 1947 of Margaret Sanger demanding “no more babies” for 10 years in developing countries. A couple of years ago, Margaret Sanger was named one of Time magazine’s “20 Most Influential Americans of All Time.” Given her enduring influence, it’s worth considering what the woman who founded Planned Parenthood contributed to the eugenics movement.

Sanger shaped the eugenics movement in America and beyond in the 1930s and 1940s. Her views and those of her peers in the movement contributed to compulsory sterilization laws in 30 U.S. states that resulted in more than 60,000 sterilizations of vulnerable people, including people she considered “feeble-minded,” “idiots” and “morons.”

That she generated enthusiasm among some of America’s leading racists says something about the content and tone of her remarks

In a letter to Clarence Gable in 1939, Sanger wrote: “We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members” (Margaret Sanger commenting on the ‘Negro Project’ in a letter to Gamble, Dec. 10, 1939).

Her own words and television appearances leave no room for parsing. For example, she wrote many articles about eugenics in the journal she founded in 1917, the Birth Control Review. Her articles included “Some Moral Aspects of Eugenics” (June 1920), “The Eugenic Conscience” (February 1921), “The Purpose of Eugenics” (December 1924), “Birth Control and Positive Eugenics” (July 1925) and “Birth Control: The True Eugenics” (August 1928), to name a few.

Sanger is not a racist?

By 1920, Sanger had abandoned all attempts to help the poor. It was not unjust social conditions which caused poverty, she concluded, but the genetic inferiority and indiscriminate breeding habit of the poor which perpetuated their misery. As a result, the superior and rightfully affluent Anglo-Saxons were well on their way to being outnumbered and overwhelmed by Slavs, Latins, Jews and blacks. Such a frightening scenario crushed whatever faith Sanger still had in popular government. Something had to be done.

Sanger's social philosophy had crystallized by 1922. In that year she published a 283 page manifesto called The Pivot of Civilization. Sanger argues that the I.Q. tests given to American servicemen during World War I gave "scientific" proof that blacks and Southern Europeans were near morons. Such individuals should submit to voluntary, or if necessary, involuntary sterilization. The American Birth Control League and Birth Control Review became the vehicles for Sanger's eugenic cause. In the April, 1932 issue of the Review, she laid out her "Plan for Peace" which included mandatory I.Q. requirements for immigrants, sterilization and segregation for the "feeble-minded," government work-camps for morons, illiterates, paupers, unemployables, criminals, prostitutes, and drug addicts.

Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger Boosted Racism by Embracing Racists
None other that Edwin Black, author of the authoritative history of the eugenics movement, War against the Weak, blasted Sanger for her close association with blatant racists. Black is an admirer of Sanger’s push for birth control, but as a historian with integrity, he admitted she enabled racism. Here are some excerpts. Get this, from page 127 (my emphasis):

Sanger was an ardent, self confessed eugenicist, and she would turn her otherwise noble birth control organizations into a tool for eugenics, which advocated mass sterilization of so-called defectives, mass incarceration of the unfit, and draconian immigration restrictions. Like other staunch eugenicists, Sanger vigorously opposed charitable efforts to uplift the downtrodden and deprived, and argued extensively that that it was better that the cold and hungry be left without help, so that the eugenically superior could multiply without competition from “the unfit.” She referred repeatedly to the lower classes and the unfit as “human waste” not worthy of assistance, and proudly quoted the extreme eugenics view that human “weeds” should be exterminated.

Margaret Sanger's racist legacy lives on at Planned Parenthood
If Planned Parenthood was really interested in undoing its racist roots, it would take a lot more than a media statement about its founder. If it were really serious about rebuilding a brand that was not riddled with racism, then it would immediately shut down the abortion clinics that it erected in black communities in order to intentionally snuff out black babies. It would invest in programs to actually help women of color. It would invest in fatherhood programs. It would help pay for women of color to get an education, including vocational training. It would offer comprehensive healthcare for men, women, and children. It would invest in safe housing options for minority families.

It would stop telling women that in order to succeed in life, you must kill your innocent child. It would instead empower women so that they didn’t feel like they had to choose between their own success and the life of their child.

But you know what? Planned Parenthood will never do that. You know why? Because abortion pays too well. Investing in minority communities only costs them money. Abortion makes them money.

Planned Parenthood is the greatest predatory racist organization among us. It lies to, kills, and destroys the black community each and every day. Margaret Sanger told us exactly who she was, and people didn’t believe it. Planned Parenthood tells us who it is by the communities it targets each and every day.

Bottom line, it was Sanger's Eugenics ideas and her RACIST ideas that led to the Holocaust.
Among the most frequent targets of this Nazification in recent decades has been Margaret Sänger and, by association. Planned Parenthood. The syllogism that we most often find looks something like this:
• Planned Parenthood was founded and primarily influenced by Margaret Sänger.
• Margaret Sänger was a leading figure in the eugenics movement in the United States.
• The eugerjcs movement in this country strongly influenced Nazi eugenics, and thus
the Holocaust.
• Therefore, a strong association exists between M. Sänger (and therefore Planned Parenthood) and the horrors of Nazism.

Reuters is full of schit.
