Pelosi had no power to prevent the National Guard from being there. There have been hundreds of arrests and convictions of participants in the putsch attempt and none were affiliated with Antifa, while a great many were longtime and prominent right-wing activists.

He also of course told them to “remain peaceful” (showing what exactly he meant by that term) and that he “loved them” after watching TV footage of them ransacking the Capitol and terrorizing members of Congress.

There were nowhere near half a million there. About half the people Trump spoke to at the rally broke into the Capitol, and most of those remaining were doing battle with the police out front. About half those who broke in have been convicted and they were all Trump supporters and in many cases longtime right-wing activists.

“Trial by combat” is a clear reference to replacing the contest at the ballot box with the contest of arms. Anyway, there was no election that day so when Trump was telling them to fight like hell to win the day, he could not have been talking about voting.

Antifa wasn’t there according to all evidence. Trump supporters were. And remember, they shut the violence off like clockwork when Trump told them to pack it in.

Funny thing...the mob that heard him say that did not think he was telling them to wait until the next election. They heard him say that the election was being stolen and they needed to stop the count. A couple thousand of the Trump supporters breached the capitol. People who broke windows have been identified as Oathkeepers and Proud Boys. Not one single Antifa member has been arrested or identified as having taken part in the riot. Not one single FBI agent has been identified and every attempt has been shown to be a lie.

The Trump campaign paid out a lot of money to people who organized the rally. They paid for busses and private planes to bring people to the capitol. You say Trump never spoke to those leaders. That he has people spending millions of dollars in his name without ever speaking to them is pretty alarming by itself.

Your excuses and attempts to absolve the people who told the mob to go kick some ass and to demand trial by combat...and to fight like hell to stop the steal isn't winning you any converts. Most people see it for what it was....fascism. An attempt to keep power by the use of a violent mob.
