The committee was established based on the constitutional definition of congressional responsibilities. If you are upset that there are only two republicans you should blame McCarthy. He pulled three republicans off of the panel.

What has the committee done that indicates to you that they are not legitimate? Calling all those republican appointees to Trump's White House was unfair? Pro-Trump people have refused subpoenas, or they've taken the 5th, refusing to testify.

Why isn't it a hearing? They are calling Trump's own people to testify. You ignore that the congress has constitutional responsibility to provide oversight for the executive branch. Both McConnell and McCarthy stated Trump was responsible for the riot. They backed off of the truth when threatened by Trump.

They can try and charge him all they want. It's said that with the system we have, you can indict a ham sandwich. I would be surprise if they didn't recommend indictment.
