Trump says he expects to be arrested Tuesday

Rebuild With Biden!
It looks like Trump is calling for his faithful brain washed supporters to come protest again -- same behavior from Trump called for not so long ago.

On Saturday morning, Trump posted a lengthy, all-caps message to Truth Social, the Twitter knockoff he launched last year, suggesting that will be arrested Tuesday.
He included an alarming call to action, writing, “PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!”

If that indeed happens and he's convicted then my guess is DeSantis moves to the front of the line. This could really go either way will be interesting to watch

That there are still republicans supporting Trump is appalling....Impeached twice, accused of rape and still dragging out producing DNA...using campaign money to pay off a porn star....the worst record ever for turnover in a four year administration....and numerous instances of interfering in an election.

Wow.

If Trump is indicted on serious felony charges, he will not go to trial until long after the 2024 election. Then he will fight like hell to win so he can pardon himself. (Yes, he is that delusional)

If it’s only about the chickenshit Stormy Daniels deal, he will continue to run even if he is somehow convicted, which I doubt. What I see developing is a rather easy path to the nomination for Trump next year then another beating in the general for whatever Democrat runs against him.

Also, I expect all Democrats and most sane Republicans (there are a few) to come out in droves to vote against Trump and any MAGA candidates in US Congressional and Senate elections.

I don’t see DeSantis suddenly growing a pair and really challenging Trump either. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ronny decides to sit this one out and wait until 2028. I was really hoping that the GOP would ditch Trump and that Biden would either decide not to run or face serious challengers like LBJ in 1968.

It does not appear that either of those things are going to happen. I know you and several other sane conservatives would be happy to ditch Trump, but too many are still eating up his swill. Too bad.

"He will follow normal procedures if it gets to that point, — Joseph Tacopina
Tacopina was only speaking for Trump agreeing to arrive in Manhattan, where procedure requires he is handcuffed, taken into custody, and arraigned, after which bail can be posted. If I were the bail bondsman, I'd make him sign over Mar-A-Lago to ensure he/she gets paid. If you haven't been keeping track. Trump also faces possible criminal charges in Fulton County, GA (Atlanta), and two separate Federal cases overseen by Special Counsel Jack Smith. The four cases involve hush money payments, tampering with an election, obstructing justice, and inciting the government's overthrow.

We likely won't see a Law & Order-type perp walk where Trump tries to cover his face and is led through a crowd of reporters trying to get a comment. In the Manhattan case. Trump may have already gotten a sealed indictment, and the Manhattan D.A. will try to make an appointment with Trump's lawyers to bring him in quietly. We're depending on reporters at Mar-A-Lago to let people know Trump is on the move, and we know New York reporters will be staked out at every location Trump could be brought for arraignment. With apologies to Gil Scott-Heron, the arraignment will be televised.

The second perp walk will likely be in Atlanta, Georgia. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said weeks ago that "charging decisions are imminent," which many assume will include Trump. In New York and Georgia, Trump must either agree to appear and transport himself or be extradited, opening up a new can of worms. Though his New York lawyer says Trump will appear, I wouldn't bet on it until it happens. Should Trump change his mind, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Trump's political rival and likely opponent in Republican primaries, must agree to Trump being extradited. DeSantis must choose between riling up the Trump base he would need to get elected President and following the law. This isn't a hard call, DeSantis can't win with Trump in the race, and he needs Trump in jail as much as Democrats want to see him there.

If Trump is indicted after either of the two ongoing federal investigations, he could turn himself in, in Florida and avoid extradition. Cameras surround Mar-A-Lago night and day during this arraignment watch, and it's not likely he'll slip out, especially given a secret service detail accompanying him.

The secret service has coordinated with local law enforcement in New York and Palm Beach County (FL) and the FBI to ensure things go smoothly. The risk doesn't appear to be that Trump will be harmed but that his supporters might try to block the proceedings, precisely what they planned on January 6th at the Capitol.

As an aside, I've seen Trump in person on two occasions, both of which it was inappropriate to wear a suit. Once at a Super Bowl in Minneapolis and another at the U.S. Open (tennis) in New York. When he does his perp walk, he'll be in a suit, trying to give the impression he's in charge. When they slap the cuffs on him, though, he might cry like a baby. We'll be watching. :)

Trumps lawyers say they know nothing of him being arrested next Tuesday.
Appears he's mental

That could end up being a good defense. I won’t believe any of these weak prosecutors will actually indict him until I see the mug shots. So far….a lotta talk.

If he's convicted, that puts him as the front runner for the GOP nomination, right?
