Still, an awful lot of smart educated people study historical data to look for trends.

Since historical analysis has little to do with the study of astrophysics, and is gender neutral, I must disagree.
If you prefer to dismiss all study of historical events and statistics, that's fine by me.
I doubt that everyone else will, however.

"Historical analysis" and Astrology are both equally ineffective means of predicting the future.

You have your opinion on historical analysis, and I'm fine with that. Ignore all history if you like and learn nothing from it. Dismiss it without consideration.
