Wait – what? The government's own study shows 60% of illegals are on welfare?

Photo above - Shohei Ohtani arrived in America at an airport and had an H1B visa in hand. He subsequently signed a job contract paying him $700 million. The vast majority of illegal aliens who cross the border on foot end up needing welfare.

If someone won a presidential election with 60% of the votes, you'd shout “landslide”!! The news that 60% of illegal immigrants are getting government aid gets no such attention. (see link below)

Nobody objects to someone getting a green card and coming to America "normally". With an H1B job visa. Blood relative visa, spouse/fiancé visa. Those programs have rules to ensure that new arrivals don't end up on welfare. The job sponsor/relative/spouse actually signs a document assuming financial responsibility. It's not on everyone else if a new arrival has no skills, no prospects, and no place to stay.

Last year at least 2 million illegal immigrants entered through the southern border. A smaller, but growing number, flew to Canada first, then walked through some snowy forest to get in. Why did they fly to Canada first? Because the USA has legitimate immigration agents at airports checking visas and passports. What if you just landed, and don't have those? Back you go!

These rules are mostly ignored if you're hiking to America. When you make it to US soil, all you have to do is give a name (it doesn't have to be your own), serve up a fingerprint, and have a photo taken. Then you get a form saying you have an immigration court hearing in 3 to 6 months. But what if you don't show up? What if you're using another name?

If a company wants to hire someone (a restaurant, Amazon, a roofing company, General Motors) that employer is supposed to use the E-Verify system to make sure that the applicant isn't using a stolen identity, and they actually have a legal right to compete against citizens for the job. Most jobs typically pay LESS than $55,000 a year (unless you're Shohei Ohtani). But it costs $55,000 a year for New York City to accommodate each illegal alien, according to the city's own budget. If all 2 million immigrants who arrived in 2023 ended up in New York, the budget hit would be $110 Billion (with a B). I don't have any data handy on how many immigrants arrived in 2022, or the year before that, etc. but those could be big numbers too.

This month congress and the president are facing off on yet ANOTHER government shutdown. Over massive federal spending. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell appeared on CBS's 60 minutes last week to warn that the national debt is “unsustainable”. Mayor Adams of NYC is pleading for a bailout. California is probably counting on one too. Shohei Ohtani is paying his taxes and using his own identity I presume. He is now one of California's biggest taxpayers.

America shouldn't have different standards for immigration, identity theft, and welfare eligibility based what form of transportation was used. The law never intended that. Hiking into America and getting welfare is the consequence of some shady politicians trying to engineer re-election with voters. And it's driving America into bankruptcy.

I'm just sayin' . . .

Overall, we rate CIS a questionable source based on publishing misleading information (propaganda) regarding immigration and ties either directly or indirectly to the John Tanton Network, a known White Nationalist.

I thought they were here doing the jobs that Americans won't do. That's what the fascists on the left are telling us.

The "Government's own study"?

1. If 2 citizens have a child who is a citizen who goes to a low-income school where all the students get reduced-cost school lunches … even if the parents pack the kid’s lunch every day … and one of them has an elderly parent who is undocumented living with them … they are counted as a “non-citizen household” that is “welfare dependent” even if they receive no benefits.
2. The study counted every household with an undocumented immigrant or green card holder, but the description dishonestly referred to “illegal immigrants” as if what was representative of the whole was necessarily true of part.
3. OP compounded the dishonesty by referring to the agenda-driven, misrepresented, slipshod study of a radically xenophobic pressure group as “the government’s own study.”

These people only read things that makes them feel good about their understanding of the world. They don’t read to “understand” what they’re reading. It’s more like… “Ahha! I found something that owns the libs!”

So you're theory is that legal immigrants are on welfare, even though their visa virtually prohibits this?

from the fable

While government-funded social programs are typically not available to illegal aliens, benefits can be accessed through their U.S.-born children, bypassing these restrictions.

The study pointed out that certain U.S. states offer Medicaid and SNAP benefits to some adult illegal aliens and their children, contributing to the high rate of welfare usage among non-citizen households.

This figure includes both permanent residents, commonly known as green card holders, and illegal immigrants.

Contrary to assumptions of unwillingness to work, the report highlighted that a significant portion of immigrant households, including those led by illegal immigrants, have at least one employed member.

Crossing the border pregnant is like hitting the Lottery after giving birth to live for free in America.

Why aren't leftist sending them to Planned Parenthoods?
