Yeah, just a few other "semi serious" issues are out there ready to affect us all in one way or another.
These elected officials that are tasked to work for the good of Americans are too busy hiding behind barb wire fences cause baba yaga was coming or lining their pockets to really do the jobs they were elected to do.

Gotta keep it alive and in the news at least through the 2022 Midterms. The playbook is so incredibly…uhhh…un-subtle that only the hackiest of hacks…the stoogiest of stooges…the lackiest of lackeys…the toadiest of toadies - the most shamelessly servile of partisan tribalist weirdos take such things seriously.

NPR did a good story on the issue of subs. The French bid was for diesel subs, not nukes. They have built about 6 nuclear subs since the 1980s. The Aussies told the French that the bid was insufficient. There were no signed contracts with the French company and negotiations had been on going. The US/British bid was for nuclear subs with current electronic warfare capabilities and a range of weapons systems the French couldn't match.

Sucks to lose, but there is no reason to think anything was done to slight the French....they couldn't compete. The US currently has 7 nuclear attack subs under construction.

You can call it overhype, but the coverage of how DC was preparing for possible violence produced a win, not a fail. I understand Proud Boy members were told not to attend. It scared off Trump's domestic extremists.

There was nothing stopping the Trump rabble from attending, but they stayed away. The optimistic view is that even the most rabid Trump cultists had a problem with rallying for violent seditionists who tried to help Trump stage his coup. That’s probably not a realistic view, but one can hope.

The concerted, ongoing effort to establish official encouragement for fascist assaults against the Constitution is a matter of concern no matter what occasional setbacks
