What if we elect the attorney general

The office would be as corrupt as all the other elected offices

As a non partisan office. Think about it. This way the position is independent of the president and not beholding to him/her.
The advise and consent role of the Senate in the AG nomination/cofirmation process is at least somewhat of a check on unqualified persons serving as AG.

That depends upon who is in charge of the Senate. Also, the office is hardly independent.
I don't think it being an elected position in a popular vote or electoral college election would make it better. You do. Reasonable minds can differ.
 
Yeah! Let's select the Secretary of Defense, Homeland Security....all of the president's cabinet. What a great idea!
That's not what I am saying. If you want to have a reasonable discussion count me in, if you want to act like a fool, count me out.
