FedNat already started canceling plans in May, but WESH 2 is working to find out how the insurance company's current policyholders will be impacted by this latest development.

WESH 2 has reached out to FedNAT to get their response, but haven't heard back yet.

A lotta Florida insurance companies began issuing policies on property in other states years ago and claims have crushed them. They wrote policies in Texas and Hurricane Harvey in 2017 and arctic freeze in February 2021 claims wiped them out.

The thing is, they still kept grabbing premiums - right? They should investigate and if these CEO'S gave themselves multi million dollar bonuses they should go to prison for life.

DeSantis now must decide weather to keep spending tax dollars picking up immigrants from Texas and dragging them to Martha’s Vineyard or using them to rebuild his swamp kingdom. Meanwhile he is begging Biden for funds out of one side of his mouth and trashing him as a senile imbecile out the other side. Hopefully his big mouthed hypocritical head will explode and Charlie Crist will send him a one way ticket to palookaville.

The government doesn't need to intervene. The insurers just need to charge much much higher premiums to reflect the risks climate changes poses to Floridian home owners.

Perhaps Biden can divert the student loan forgiveness monies??

Floridians in particular. Their home insurers seem to be dramatically undercharging insurance premiums given the risks climate change poses to them.
So climate change is limited only to Floridians? Shouldn't we take your insurance up exponentially also?

No, climate change is not limited to just Florida.

But the Floridian property insurers have been undercharging the risks to Florida for decades now. Florida property insurers have climate deniers while others states property insurers have not to the extent that Florida has.

Pah. That would be every insurer...as climate changes are not limited to Florida. I think we should really raise your rates really high..to aid in forestalling any shortage...

No, not all insurers are created equally.
the risk profile of my house, which is 600 miles inland and well above sea level Is not the same as one that is 3 miles from the coast and 1 foot above sea level.
Insurance companies are but a collection of risk profiles.
