if electricity was disrupted, how would people cook and keep warm?

would safe water even be available, if there was no power to refill the local water towers?

most people live in cities these days, or suburbs, which is hardly better. farmers and rural folk will have wells, firewood, chickens, and arable land if it comes to that. imagine new york city without electricity for a week.

how many people will be killed over their food, money, and personal weapons, by those who are less scrupulous and more desperate? would it even be safe to to take an empty jug to central park to fill it, or would someone follow you back to take whatever was in your apartment?

"looters will be shot on sight" . .. um probably not. the police with withdraw. they barely respond to 911 calls already.

the average person cannot tell you what is actually "in" the patriot act. i certainly can't.

evidently it allows body cavity searches of anyone at the airport, with no suspicion of wrong doing.

it possibly allows the NSA to record all my cell phone calls, tweets, and emails, for future reference, if they some day want to allege i might have broken a law. no warrant required.

but the patriot act clearly allows hundreds of thousands to illegals to cross the border unchallenged, receive assistance from various government agencies, then blend into the crowd without a trace instead of showing up for their immigration hearing. but no, your friend's cousin CANNOT get a student visa and arrive here by plane.

this sort of stupidity is the reason why both political parties receive and deserve our disrespect. ordinary citizens are inconvienced insulted and investigated ad nauseum, while actual people likely to cause problems get a free pass.
