Equal Taxation,
Everyone needs to pay their fair share of taxes on earned income.( as defined in current tax code) Make it simple. A 12% tax with a deduction of 1% for each dependent. (dependent as defined in current tax code). Businesses can keep their deductions but there needs to be a minimum tax ( to be determined by congress) that they must pay no matter what. ( no zero taxes paid ) Simple returns. Maybe when the employer gives the employee his/her w2 they also give a card with earnings and taxes paid and also number of dependents also all dependent social security numbers would be listed on the card. Employee signs the card and sends it in via electronic device or mail. A nice simple way to file. The same process would be done for those with mutiple employers. No need for the burdon of paperwork because the tax is a flat tax.

The current establishment can't get it right,
I think what we need to do to solve the gridlock going on in DC is to vote out all incumbants and then either elect a large number of independents or a strong 3rd party that can work across the aisle. There is too much brinksmanship going on between the democrats and republicans. It is all self interest and they don't seem to care what it does for the good of the country.
Right now they want to mess with medicare. We worked and payed into the system all our lives and when we retire pay a monthly premium ( deducted ) from our social security check. It is getting so bad that doctors don't want to bother accepting patients that are on medicare. I say get them all out and start fresh.
