Newt says the choice is between a Massachusetts moderate and a Reagan conservative. I think the pubs were better off when they were all trying to make the case that they were Kennedy or Truman....like they did last time around.

Anyway, every Repub tries to glom onto the Myth of Reagan and claim the mantle of the Most High & Holy One for him (or her) self.

Thing is, here's an article from a "Weekly Standard" goober noting that in the past several cycles, the GOP ends up annointing a Nominee who actually OPPOSES Reaganism....or even The Magnificent One himself.

I'm afraid ol' Newt ain't long for dis world (electorally speaking).....Right-mussen polls show him in 3rd to Romney and Santorum in South Carolina, a "neighbor-to-Georgia" state that he seemed ASSURED of easily winning just a few weeks ago.

Question is....does he bow out "gracefully"...or try to take out Romney with him by attacking Mitt and telling all his supporters "Back Santorum...we must destroy Romney" (openly and overtly).
