In 2017 there were 457 whites killed by police. There were 223 blacks.
The statistics are pretty much useless because it does not show how many were killed in the commission of a crime. In any case it is the MURDER of an individual by police that is in the news. It pisses me off when the protesters add Michael Brown to the list, because he'd assaulted a police officer. The probability that he was moving towards the officer he'd just fought with is pretty hard to ignore.
The others mentioned were murders. They were committed either because of shitty training or pure indifference to the lives of typically black men.
The trend of fatal police shootings in the U.S. seems to only be increasing each year, with 1,097 civilians, 225 of whom were Black, killed by police in 2022.
