That is, in fact, false. There were cries of outrage that precede the riots. I myself on this very forum called for this cop's arrest (immediately). The riots are not "justifiable" but one could certainly point to the failure of the authorities to act expeditiously as a proximate cause. The DA was on TV Thursday evening "appealing" for people with "evidence" in the case to contact them. WTF? Anyone who saw the video had all the evidence they needed to charge this "officer" with a crime. If they were trying to decide which one, just take him into custody on "suspicion of murder" and sort the precise charges out while he sits in jail.
And frankly, the feds blew it too. They should have moved swiftly to take him into federal custody on civil rights violations so he would have been off the streets while the state dithered. Trump missed a huge opportunity to become a "statesman" by doing so, and moving forcefully to initiate a federal panel to examine police brutality and recommend big changes in the protection of the rights of crime suspects..
