70% want witnesses @senate trial, 51% want Trump convicted & removed

President
No, I want all the states to decide because I don't want California and New York electing our presidents for us.
I don't think Statist means what you think it means.
Even if everyone in New York and California voted the same way ... which they don’t ... together they are less than 15% of the country’s population. So a popular vote would not allow them to decide the election unless more than 40% of the rest of the country agreed with them.

He should listen to Democrats who haven't proven themselves to be pathological liars and life-long con men:

https://www.truthorfiction.com/mitch-mcconnell-completely-and-utterly-perplexed-by-those-who-argue-perjury-obstruction-of-justice-arent-high-crimes/

"A top search result was archival reporting from 1999. In what looked like an ancient CNN page, 'Sen. McConnell’s closed-door impeachment statement,' the Senator said in part:

"… Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution plainly sets forth that bribery is a high crime and misdemeanor, and our federal laws tell us clearly that perjury and obstruction of justice are equivalent offenses to bribery.

"In fact, the federal sentencing guidelines actually mandate a harsher punishment for perjury than for bribery and a harsher punishment for obstruction of justice than for bribery.

"So, I am completely and utterly perplexed by those who argue that perjury and obstruction of justice are not high crimes and misdemeanors."
That's like trying to shit, from a tree limb, into a swinging bucket.

Bolton might be able to manage that.
One thing for sure, when you put a corrupt crony-capitalist in the Oval Office, the shit will fill any bucket.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/26/us/politics/trump-bolton-book-ukraine.html

"Over dozens of pages, Mr. Bolton described how the Ukraine affair unfolded over several months until he departed the White House in September.

"He described not only the president’s private disparagement of Ukraine but also new details about senior cabinet officials who have publicly tried to sidestep involvement.

"For example, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo acknowledged privately that there was no basis to claims by the president’s lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani that the ambassador to Ukraine was corrupt and believed Mr. Giuliani may have been acting on behalf of other clients, Mr. Bolton wrote."

Who will you believe, Bolton or Trump?

Anything negative Bolton says will be suspect. He's as tainted as Mitt Romney. Together, Bolton and Romney have only half the balls Trump has. Bolton is still mad at Trump for firing him and Romney can't find tampons big enough to fit his [Unwelcome Language deleted]. I'm almost sorry I voted for the POS, but felt like it was my duty to vote against the Democrat.

How does Trump's integrity compare to Bolton and Romney?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_affairs_of_Donald_Trump

"An analysis by USA Today published in June 2016 found that over the previous three decades, Donald Trump and his businesses have been involved in 3,500 legal cases in U.S. federal courts and state court, an unprecedented number for a U.S. presidential candidate."

Trump's corruption extends over decades.
From refusing the pay vendors and employees for goods and services provided to the breach of trust his "University" and Foundation perpetrated on unsuspecting consumers and donors, Trump has proven time and again he's a pathological liar and con man.

Both of them have penis envy. Trump fired Bolton and that's a sting that apparently has not stopped hurting yet.
Romney blew the 2014 election because he didn't have the balls to go after Obama with all guns blazing. Like McCain, he was afraid of being called a racist. Trump has no such fear because he knows he's not a racist and he doesn't give a shit what racist Democrats say about him.
Both men hate Trump because he's better than they are and they know it.

Trump's been a racist since he was old enough to understand language, and he's been accused of even worse crimes, unlike Bolton and Romney (as bad as they are):

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_affairs_of_Donald_Trump#Personal_and_sexual

"In 1992, Trump sued ex-wife Ivana Trump for not honoring a gag clause in their divorce agreement by disclosing facts about him in her best-selling book.

"Trump won the gag order.[43][44][45]

"The divorce was granted on grounds that Ivana claimed Donald Trump's treatment of her was 'cruel and inhuman treatment'.[46][47]

"Years later, Ivana said that she and Donald 'are the best of friends'.[48]

"A sexual assault claim from 1994 for child rape was filed against Trump on October 14, 2016,[49] a case that was dropped and refiled, remaining in suspension as of November 4, 2016.[50]

"In April 1997, Jill Harth Houraney filed a $125,000,000 lawsuit against Trump for sexual harassment in 1993, claiming he 'groped' her under her dress and told her he wanted to make her his 'sex slave'".

"Harth voluntarily withdrew the suit when her husband settled a parallel case.

"Trump has called the allegations 'meritless.'"
