This is true. It does seem as though the republicans are desperate to return to the days of the "good ol' boy" network running things. After posting 7 of the last 8 popular votes, you can understand why they are so disdainful of government; as if someone else getting civil rights; access to the ballot, education, capital, and courts is somehow a threat to them.
