Fox is not "Fair and Balanced" but they take us one step closer to a media that is fair and balanced overall. It takes us one step closer, though it doesn't get us there. It is still one lone right leaning news station in a vast left leaning sea.

It drives the left nuts because they are used to having a complete monopoly where the other side was not represented at all, or represented only as a token or a foil.

Pogue is on the right target, except as he describes Fox as right-"leaning". Fox doesn't "lean" right. Fox IS right, in a wacky over-the-top way. But, in staking out a crazy, dishonest, and anti-intellectual position out in the redkookian weeds, it is fair to say that Fox "pulls" the center rightward.
