Lots Going Wrong Under Biden

Taiwan is a [Unwelcome language removed] island. Why hasn't Biden closed all borders?
Of course, focus on the edge case vs the other 2134 countries that beat America when it came to COVID with a 100th of America's resources because of Trump ... like ... Vietnam

You know, nearly 3rd world country with open borders too ?!

...I was addressing the fawning media. You ok?
So ...

the media claiming reality, such as Biden is doing fairly well as a president, isn't "fawning" over him its just claiming reality.

or ...

is your point that Putin's Whore was so bad that even a mediocre person seems tolerable compared to him?

tia

Comparing one country to another is a good trick. Even comparing one US state to another requires quite a bit of magic. Population density, weather, age, general availability of medical care...all are factors very different from one place to the next.
You're right, there is very little to no comparison

America's is one of the richest nations in the history of human kind, 3rd largest population and 5th largest land mass and worlds largest military...no other country currently has the resources we do to fight anything.

so

With all that factored in Trumps response to COVID had America stankin up the joint seeing there were so many other countries without the resources did great.

I understand.

Perhaps if he did not speak for himself, if he had been more like Biden is and just told reporters he would get in trouble for speaking to them about anything or answering any questions they might ask concerning anything his handlers did not previously approve of he would have received far more positive press...

Any thoughts on that possibility?
Speaking for himself speaks for itself. Trump is a buffoon. His every unsupervised communication proved it. Does it really take 10 flushes on water saver toilets? I have four in my home...Has Trump every used one? Did George Washington's troops really attack British air fields to win the war? Was it smart for Trump to send Sean Spicer out to attack the media over the size of the inaugural crowd? Conway tries to tell us that there are alternate facts? Hey Kellyanne...those aren't facts.

Biden's problem is that he allows reporters to ask questions about topics not relevant to his priorities or even close to the topic he is talking about. The media is all about stirring the pot. That doesn't server the administration well. Trump simply told reporters to shut up if he didn't like the question.

You can play at whatever you want if it makes you feel good. The fact of the matter remains the economy emerged where it is in the throes of a global pandemic. You can pretend unemployment is high because of something else you can pretend whatever you like. You can pretend that Trump is solely responsible for the covid deaths. Whatever makes you happy. But the reality is with the reality is.
Every president faces challenges. According to scientists the pandemic was preventable ... it was Trump’s failure to rise to the occasion that led to the outcome we saw

Major inflation due to printing boatloads of money, States in state of emergencies due to gas shortages, a horrible employment report due to so many people not wanting to work to collect increased unemployment rates, The border crisis continues to get worse.

Thankfully for Biden, he has a devoted media that refuses to call him out and attack him for this.
You could always shorten the list, just list what's going well for America.

The GDP dropped 31% in the 2nd quarter of 2020 and recovered 33% in the 3rd...for a net GDP increase of 2%. Trump had little to do with it, either way....unless you'd count the fact that he lied about how bad the Covid pandemic was. He led people to be less concerned than they should have been...less careful. He dismissed the advice of people like Fauci and put an idiot like Atlas into the Pandemic team.

The unemployment rate was 4.5% the day Trump put his hand on the bible. At it's best it was 3.7%...so Trump gets credit for a .7% improvement.

On the other hand, Bush's Recession got unemployment up to 10% and Obama's policies brought it down by more than half...

You can claim Trump's policies improved GDP by a ton...but you'd be wrong. His tax cut got a bump that lasted about one quarter....his average growth was pretty much the same as Obama's. So Obama stabilized the worst economy since 1929 thanks to republican policies...and handed Trump a growing economy. Trump handed Biden a shit sandwich and Joe is working on improving it.

I happen to disagree with Biden's spending plans and would rather he focus on investment than handouts. We'll see what happens next...meanwhile, Trump didn't end illegal immigration, it was a mess on the border and still is. His "magnificent" wall change nothing.
I don’t think the percentages are based on a common baseline. Minus 31%, then plus 33% (of the remaining 69%), leaves you 8% down from where you started.

Gee...why did things go sideways between Trump and the media?

“Your job is not to call things ridiculous that are said by our press secretary and our president. That’s not your job,” Conway said.

So that story was certainly negative...how in hell could it have been otherwise? Trump or his press people say things that are provably false, but the media should not characterize those statements, just report them?

When Biden actually spoke the words no one who makes under 400,00 dollars a year would pay a penny in taxes was THAT not "provably false"? But the media should not not have characterized those statements, just reported them them?

When he said you couldn't even go into a 7-11 or a Duncan donut shop unless you had an Indian accident did all of the media report on him being so racist?

When obummer said he visited all 57 of our united states was he deemed a liar in the majority of our press?

Mis-spoken things can be found concerning anyone, are they all deemed lies equally or are some ignored, overlooked or clarified by others?

You know good and well these issues are viewed and dealt with in different manners depending upon the political positions of the speaker.

Just admit it.

The media widely characterized that as false.

Obama obviously misspoke. Once or twice. Trump said dumber things several times a day. And instead of acknowledging that what he’d said was inaccurate, he made his departments come out with maps altered with Sharpies to prove him “right” and insisted that reports that his statement was inaccurate were “fake news.”

Trump isn't president...that is going very well for us.

Half of the US is vaccinated...covid hospitalizations and deaths are way down.

Economy is recovering from the pandemic Trump said would be gone a year ago.

The media reported Biden misspoke about taxes and that he inadvertently omitted "new" taxes.

Obama meant to say 47 and was dealing with getting by on a couple hours sleep per nite during the campaign. The media reported the gaffe. Here was the story on Reuters

Are you saying the size of Trump's inaugural crowd was actually larger than any before or was that a lie? Did Washington's troops actually attack British airfields? Do water saver toilets really take 10 flushes? Do windmills cause cancer?

There is a huge difference between saying no taxes and no new taxes as was intended and certainly the context of Biden's statement....but was it a lie?

Did Trump lie or was he just baffled by history or plumbing?

The only notable exception would be the gas shortage, otherwise all of these conditions existed during or are as the result of prior administration.

It is correct however that a fawning media refuses to attack Biden over them
I don't think only the gas shortage can be associated with the Biden administration. Certainly the border crisis can be. We know people flooded the border based on Biden's assertions that he wants these people to come to America and get free stuff for their future votes. The number of migrants bum-rushing the border sky-rocketed as soon as Biden took office. There's a direct correlation.

Meanwhile, the draconian "stay closed" lock down policies that still exist are the Democrats to own, Biden included, as is the lack of returning to the workforce by those on unemployment.. as it's the Democrats who have been pushing for it.

The Biden admin deserves a good amount of blame for all of those. Thankfully for them, they have a devoted media which refuses to critique, attack, or make any connection.

When did Biden say the illegal immigrants should come to America and get free stuff?
In fact, what free stuff are illegal immigrants allowed to apply for?

Undocumented immigrants, including DACA holders, are ineligible to receive most federal public benefits, including means-tested benefits such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, sometimes referred to as food stamps), regular Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). Undocumented immigrants are ineligible for health care subsidies under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and are prohibited from purchasing unsubsidized health coverage on ACA exchanges

"The media widely characterized that as false."

And yet it was NOT. You could actually listen to Biden say those exact words.
Hence the claims of a largely biased media.

"Pretty much."

No, not at all. Even if reported never did the majority of the media claim it evidence of Biden's racism. As they would have were it Trump's quote.
Hence the claims of a largely biased media.

As was reported. But never as obami LIED. Also always excused, "explained away", ignored and even defended by his loyal followers. Unlike any and every Trump word.

"The media reported Biden misspoke..."

They did. What they did NOT say was that he LIED. How many times did they report Trump lied vs. "misspoke" or " inadvertently" omitted or added something?

"Obama meant to say..."

He did. And it was well explained as "fatigue" and completely defended then later ignored by his loyal media. Unlike Trump whose every word we are presented with daily no matter when or why.

And even when the point is made that both lied or misspoke, we then are presented with attempts to somehow justify treating the two sides differently, with complete acceptance or never ending attacks because of personal feelings about the number of times it happened, the varying degree of severity, "context", or some other BS.

Completely and absolutely opposite manners of approaching similar actions of individuals depending upon nothing more than their political positions.

Kind of the point here.

Yet here they are... Hummmm….Now just how in the hell can that be?

When did the "media" say Trump lied when it really wasn't a lie?

When Trump said Washington's troops attacked British air bases nobody called it a lie...they just commented on how stupid Trump is. When he said windmills cause cancer they reported that there was no evidence to support that statement. You can argue that it was the same as calling him a liar, but what they reported was the fact.

When Trump claimed it took 10 flushes on a water saver toilet he was ridiculed, but again, I don't recall that people called him a liar.

When he claimed to have built the greatest economy in the history of the world, was he lying? His GDP growth was actually about what Obama's was...between 2 and 3% per year. The unemployment rate dipped to 3.7%, but in 1953 it was 2.5%. GDP growth from 1962 thru 1964 was between 4% and 6%.

Was his tax cut the largest in the history of our country? Nope...It was actually the 8th largest in our history, based on percentage of GDP.

Actually, you're wrong. People who cross the border and are on US soil can legally request asylum status. That means they are legally here until they have a court hearing.
That law has been in place for years.

Yup, I'm not sure what the baseline is...if it comparing current quarter to previous quarter or is it annualized comparing this quarter to same quarter last year. Lies, damned lies and statistics, eh?
